Am I the only one that is genuinely upset about this? First of all, the crowns and energy being hidden unless the inventory is tabbed... THIS IS SUCH A BAD IDEA! This is a key part in the SK experience. Knowing your energy levels and crowns is necessary for everything--crafting, elevators, trading, purchases, etc. Now a player is forced to keep the ENTIRE inventory menu open in order to see it. Maybe you guys can either hard code the energy and crowns like it used to be, or at least remove the tab from the inventory block so you can close the inventory and keep the crowns open?
Another thing that is completely unnecessary is the shield health bar at the top. The coloring around the shield before was a good indicator of a shield's health. The blue bar at the top is just ugly with no real border, it just stands out on top of the screen. Also when you press your shield, it actually gets larger and dwarfs the health bar. WHY? This does not need to happen... a player will know when they press the shield! It is just clunky and distracts from the more important health bar.
Finally, the weapon changing is extremely obnoxious. I hope you guys can add a toggle to turn it off. For an experienced player, they will always be weapon switching to make the most out of their fighting. It's really obnoxious to see a large picture and name of the weapon I just switched to. Most players are going to know their weapon order and they know how they are toggling through it. Please either remove it, keep it the way it is, or at least add a toggle... it just distracts and clutters the screen, blocking both enemy health and movements.
I noticed the party member's health bar was now turned into a contiguous border instead of blocks... this now makes it hard to support a team member. When you are playing through FSC and you see a player has 3 bars, you know they are one hit away from death. This can force you to either move in to help or get ready to revive. Now it's unclear as to whether or not that 1 hit from a slag will drain their remaining bar because now there is no standard unit indicator of health. Not preferable for advanced teams.
Honestly I am really disappointed. The first three things I just mentioned (the crowns being tabbed permanently unless untabbed with addition of inventory bar, the shield health bar which is unnecessary, and the weapon switching indicator not being able to be turned off or simply redesigned) actually irritated me so much that I immediately stopped testing. I really hope you will think over these UI designs... I know I am not the only dedicated player that shares these opinions.
I completely agree with you.
The shield bar: Absolutely unnecessary and intrusive.
Weapon switching icons: Absolutely unnecessary and intrusive.
Can't see crowns and energy/mist unless you open the inventory: really, 000? REALLY?
Party members health bar: We need squares, not a huge bar that tells us nothing
