At depth 19, Graviton Vortex will kill a gremlin in two bombs if you're wearing mad bomber.
Just because it isn't used for damage doesn't mean it can't be used for damage.

The damage from a vortex is pretty good when you consider the vortex effect itself is an immensely strong game play effect. What is obviously holding the vortex back in terms of delightful high damage spam-ability is the long charge time. I wonder if the slow walk speed and inherit risk of trying to combo vortexes that hold a bunch of angry thwackers and mecha knights is penalty enough?
I suggest anyone who hasn't tried it yet to bring a vortex to fight glop drops.
Why not just increase GV's suction radius?
Add a continuous mini stream of 5 damages before the big explosion. As of now the GV and EV only does it once. And sometimes if the slag is breathing fire and gets drawn in a bit later you create a flamethrower. -_-
Being able to clump up and disable enemies is inherently broken though. What we really need is a Shock fix to stop Electron Vortex from being broken, followed by a fairly fundamental redesign. Even the spinning effect won't work if you have too many enemies.
I made a topic about the Graviton Vortex before, Giving it a slight chance of minor Curse seems overpowered? Yes it fits the theme of the Graviton Vortex but still seems OP, I think (in my opinion) giving it minor Stun will work better or what Arctifice (The same person that commented on my Graviton Vortex thread) said increase suction radius of the Graviton Vortex.
+1 to simply making it a bit more of what it already is, rather than changing it. Also, the fact that EV is not commonly used is not evidence that a cursing bomb (I know there's a bad joke in there somewhere...) would not be overpowered. :/ I would love for "pure" gun and bomb specialists to have some way to inflict Curse, though. Maybe something with a Vapouriser's puny blast range, (and by "blast" I don't mean "cloud") a chance to inflict Curse, and pretty much no other effects? I guess a gun could have status infliction on the charge attack only, since we don't have a lot of guns like that, and a really long charge time. Maybe just modify one of the Magnus paths instead of making a new weapon, since their charge attacks are very unpopular.
Uh, hehe, back on topic... As for suggesting changes to Gravy's behaviour other than just making it better at what it's apparently meant for, I'd love to see some kind of Shadow weapon that inflicts Freeze- for simple thematic reasons rather than gameplay ones to be honest, but Freeze seems in-character for a bomb whose main purpose is stopping monster movement and inflicting a bit of damage after a while. I think I particularly like the idea of using Graviton, since it kinda fits that something that devours light and heat also pulls other stuff toward it, but apparently the idea has little mass appeal.
We've already been over this countless times: tacking a status onto GV will not make it balanced. Increasing suction strength/range or removing the finishing blast on the bomb will.
