Shield bash like to trigger by itself. I find that if I 'strobe' my shield, it will activate on it's own. Not sure why, but it's really annoying. I also find that it's pretty useless because it seems like you boost a second before your shield goes up which makes you vulnerable, and I always get hurt using it. That, and the fact that I can't bring my shield up immediately after using it is annoying.
