PVP: Chaos cowl with UV Max Piercing is good?

Actually, I was wondering if the UVs count in PVP.
If so--
I think max UV piercing is good for PVP, and I want to get a chaos cowl.
On that matter, do trinket slots count in PVP?--I thought so.
Sorry for a silly question, but I always get quickly wasted in PVP, and would like to become better.

Troupe, what are you talking about? Pierce max will lower the damage taken if you are hit by a piercing weapon. Just because the chaos cowl doesn't have base piercing protection does not mean the uv is useless.

What weapons are you using? Don't tell me you'll bring Chaos with a flourish and GF because no one ever charges those.
Some people make chaos for it's "amazing bonuses" without ever taking advantage of them...

Many hours have been dedicated to this very subject about not base uv'd defense increases. It might look nice, but as Troupe pointed out, it will NOT let you take any more hits than with a regular Chaos piece. Try it yourself.

According to my friend apophis, shadow max on skolver allows him to survive a GF combo. They do help. Just check your total bonuses by inspecting yourself, and you'll see piercing there on the chaos @OP.
I can test some hard numbers if you want, to clear this up, since I don't know myself. Might be worth seeing if all those max defense UVs are worthless or not :D

I know for a fact that those uvs do affect any wolver sets.
The thing is, I am not exactly sure if it works with chaos. Sarf, do you know Ezho? I'm pretty sure he has a double max piercing chaos set (max piercing on both pieces o.e). And if we all know ezho, he never gets something that's useless xD

It is better than nothing, but I think that -at most- it'd only let you take 1 or 2 extra hits.
Considering how hard it can be to obtain double maxes, you could say it's not worth it. I would focus on status resists or ASI first.
Uvs count in PvP
Any piercing uv is good due to the large number of Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade users.
Chaos Cowl is good due to damage and ctr bonuses.
Trinket slots do count in PvP. That's why many players last a while in a match.
