Oh wow! No wonder your vocabulary, organization and critical assessing skills are so honed... Well now, that's nice ^_^

Not wanting to rush, but are you waiting for someone else to reply in GoD?

@Hexlash

I guess I am waiting for someone else to reply, but only because I'm still trying to figure out what to put in my next post. I'm still trying to decide between having Claire go out and kill somebody, sending Desna and team out to do some fighting, or exploring the relationship between Serah and Nevo some more.

Edit: we should probably talk about this in the discussion thread. :3

What was that? I rushed over to where I heard noise, slowly due to the darkness. I stumbled upon Als body. Shocked, I drew my sword. I saw a figure in the darkness, and rushed and tackled the figure. And then I saw it was Sana. I awkwardly got off of her, blushing. "U-uhm.. Sorry... What happened to Al?"

Er, talk about too close for comfort...

Sanaca rubbed her back wearily as she recovered from the unexpected collision.

"At least you came!" she said, forcing out a laugh. Checking Archemiday over for injury briefly, she walked up to Albert, who was completely unconscious.

"He attacked me out of the blue, if it weren't for that anesthetic injection, I would probably be..." Frowning, she picked up Albert, and after a bit of struggle, placed him on the bed. Her suspicions were confirmed as she eyed the ominous glowing marks on his skin. "We need to find a way to reverse the swarm infection. He should be out for at least an hour, but I have no idea how we're going to be able to figure it out in that time." Stifling a yawn, she added, "Especially during the night."

Comlink message to Knights Sanaca and Arch.

'Hi guys. If you want a way to vanquish Swarm, Light shards, luminite and divine lights work. Divine lights are things like the shine on Radiant Silvermail, the glisten on the Valkyrie set and the light from Cloud's eyes. By the way, I'm going to try and convince Feron and Kora to set up a rescue service to bring the ones falsely arrested back to Haven. Cloud had the genius idea to add a divine light to the nose of the ship used for the rescue service. It should be an eighty minute ride there and back using the advanced thrusters. Good luck holding out in that shuttle while we set up the rescue ship. I wish you luck'

At that moment, I switched off the com unit and nodded to Cloud.
'Let's do it. They won't be able to stay there for forever.' I said.
'All right. We have some work to do.' Cloud answered back. He then started to make a small hand-held divine light by placing magnified Sun Silver in a tube made out of five star cobalt. He broke one end and replaced it with visor glass. 'Divine torch. Good for light, damage bonuses against fiends and undead and Swarm cleansing. Works like a charm'

Lost in a dream

They're forcing me off. I try to resist. But I fail, and I fall, through the air. I hit the ground. This time, there is no dust to soften my landing. I crash through rocks, into a cave. But I'm not unconscious yet. (Or am I?)

I move through the cave. It seems endless. Bats occasionally rush through the cave, brushing by. I don't mind.

I command my Maskeraith to use quills, because they're golden and they might illuminate the cave. My command passes unheard. Bah. It was so dark, and so long, and I was unarmed. The bats started to get a little uncomfortable as I ventured further in. By now I can hear the echo of my footsteps bouncing off the walls. And suddenly I walk into a door. It felt rocky. That meant I was in a dead end, right? I turned around and started to walk the other way, when a door opened. I walked backwards into the door. I walked...

...into a vibrant flashing room, with a few medical supplies on a table, and a bed. The door closed. The flashing was unexpected, and I couldn't see well ahead. Suddenly, a ball hits me on the cheek. The hit area started hurting. So this was a dodgeball court. If I can't see, and I'm supposed to dodge, then this would be a torture room. I think. But what would medical supplies be doing in a-

Oh, I knew now. It was a room where a person watched someone else get hit by balls repeatedly for fun, and then deactivate the ball shooters and use the medical supplies on the person who got hit by the balls, who would then get hit by another round of balls. But if they wanted entertainment, why couldn't they just play dodgeball? That way, one of them didn't have to suffer for the other's fun, and-

My train of thought is interrupted by a ball landing forcefully into my head, making my skull feel crushed. Balls are flying everywhere now. Safe spots were almost impossible to find. I would find an exit, if I could SEE one. But as I run around, I fall into a trapdoor on the floor. This surprised me, but I had no energy to cry out in surprise (and partial delight that I would be leaving the dodgeball court of pain). I land feet first in an area that looks like a field. I look around, and see...

A sniper. OH SN-

The shot comes, and I duck just in time to avoid the bullet. There were probably 20 of these stationed here. I'd need to be quick to find an exit, or I will be doomed to the snipers. Besides, they are good shots, and shoot quick.

BAM. I have to dodge again. BAM, BAM, BAM. AGH. HOW DO THESE PEOPLE EXPECT ME TO DODGE TH- Oh wait, they don't. I make a run for the door out, managing not to get shot along the way. I try to open the door, but quickly realize it's just art on the wall.

BAM. I get shot in the chest. The snipers think their job is done. ...They think. Of course, I still get time to search for a hidden door. I find one. But by now, my chest is hurting very much. After the armor auto-repairs, I hold the armor very closely to the wound. I then head through the hallway, slowly.

(Yay for dream mini-games)

Oh derp, forgot my phone deleted my post!

Sanaca's attention returned to Albert as he squirmed on the bed, grunting. Walking up to him, it seemed as if he was in distress. Wondering what might be going on in his head, she placed her hand on his forehead to check his temperature. The dark runes on his body began to glow in alternating patters, casting an eerie purple light around. Pulling her hand back, Sanaca just watched Albert, wishing she knew what neurological processes were running through his mind.

Cut open my head to find out, though not the best idea

As I walk through the dark hallway, the path splits in every way possible. I walk through the main path to find it is a dead end. It's a maze.

I wasn't in the mood for mazes. I dashed up the wall. I was on top of the wall quickly. Now where was the exit... Oh there it was. I walked carefully on top of the wall (still clutching my chest) and into the exit. But then I heard a great roar from behind the exit, and a black thorn suddenly hit me in the face, knocking me off the wall and into the maze. Great. I was lost again. Seriously though, they put a snarbolax in here without a Beast Bell?

Ok. Obviously I had to find a way past the Snarbolax. I dashed up the wall again. I ducked in time to avoid a black thorn aimed for my face.

Great. The sniper scenario again.

As he burrowed, I jumped off the wall and ran to the exit. But the Snarbolax ended up coming up right in front of me. I ran the other way. This was going to be tougher than I thought. As he prepared to bite me, I dashed into a wall, hitting my head and stunning me. Ohhhhhh, that gives me an idea!

I kept running away from the Snarbolax. He burrowed everywhere, preparing to bite me from this direction and that direction. He paused for a moment to roar. I took this opportunity to dash at it, sending it into the wall and stunning it. (Do not try this in the Snarbolax's Lair. It won't work.) I quickly ran through, not stopping to catch my breath.

I ended up in a small room. A door closed behind me. I could see that every wall was made of rubber. A turret stood in front of me. It shot an energy bullet at me. Out of instinct, I dodged. "How many more of these 'games' do I have to pass through until I can stop?" I wondered aloud.

"As many as you can until you die," a vile voice answered.

The prospect of eternal torture wasn't interesting, nor was dying. I just wish, some divine force could take me out of here. Or this was all a dream. Or maybe both. Preferably both. I didn't answer the voice.

"Let the gamessssssss BEGIN!"

What? This was like, the fourth "game" I was going through, and it only begins NOW? Man, if this is a dream I had better hope I wake up soon.

The energy bullet bounced around the room. The turret was getting ready to fire a laser. As far as I knew, this type of laser instantly drained all your energy regardless of whether you're dashing through it or running through it. I ran to the corner of the room (which wasn't that far away). When the laser approached, I jump, and quickly rolled to the corner opposite to me. I repeated this process, until I got too tired and lay down in the middle of the room. The energy bullet bounced around the room, and the laser was approaching quickly. I gave in.

But then the bullet fizzled out and the laser stopped.

"DRAT! OUT OF POWER! I NEED TO RESTORE POWER TO THESE UNRELIABLE, DEFECTIVE WEAPONS!" the voice said angrily. With my last burst of energy, I walked toward the turret, uninstalled it, and climbed in through a secret tunnel inside. Just another long pathway. But this time I didn't have the energy to go through it all the way. I stopped halfway through to rest. When I regained all my energy, I walked through the rest of the pathway and opened the door. Bright light immediately rushes in, blinding me and making me stumble back a couple steps.

Then I got hit by a ball.

Oh, I get it. It's a vicious cycle, but each time you go through the chain of trials you get back to them again. But they get harder each time. I remembered the last trial where I played blind dodgeball. I could barely see then. Now I couldn't see at all through this light.I could hear the sound of balls bouncing off the walls. They hit me harder. In my blind attempt to dodge, I crashed through a wall. I still couldn't see. Balls kept pelting me as I walked through the hallway. I could barely feel my leg anymore with all the impact on it.

As before, I crashed through a trapdoor in the floor, and into the sniper field. Now I was paining so much I just want to get shot and die. But it didn't happen. I just lie there in a broken heap. I didn't feel like dodging sniper bullets for now. And they weren't shooting me either.

The snipers started shooting at something behind me. I was in the firing line. The bullets hurt... and then the pain suddenly stopped.

I was dreaming. A Gremlin was watching over me. Out of instinct, I reached for my Nightblade. My hands met thin air. Before it fell onto the bed, I noticed my Nightblade on the ground. I was too tired to get it anyway. I was hallucinating. The Gremlin turned out to be Sanaca.

I regained control of myself, so that's a plus.

I also noticed Archemiday on the comlink. I lost the energy to greet either of them. Then I saw a bit of luminite on the table. It radiated with divinity. I shielded my eyes with my arms. Clearly, whatever was trying to turn me into a Void Knight was more complicated than I thought. Speaking of which, I'm getting that feeling again...

Ice Mountain

The bitter cold seemed to seep through every pore in her armor, and every step sank nearly a foot into the ice. Gwen shivered and began climbing up the mountain. The icy slopes were unforgiving, and she lost her footing more than a few times. She reached a small cavern and took shelter in it. I'm almost glad I didn't take my Chieftans with me up here. After warming up for a few minutes, she stepped back out and continued her trek up the mountain. She didn't get far before a familiar black object passed her field of vision. "Hello my pretty," she said to herself. She scrambled up and reached the top of the mountain. One more step sent her plummeting down a hidden hole and into a pool of black water. It reeked of death, so she climbed out of it and shook herself dry.

Once she felt clean, she glanced around the room. Curiously, it wasn't pitch-dark like she expected; it was lit by several torches placed around the area. She could clearly make out a crude carving in the wall of a man with a flag. Huh. Looks like someone intended to claim this as his territory.

She found a passageway and ventured through it. It, too, was lined with torches, and led to a somewhat smaller room with a crude stone chair at the end. Throne, perhaps? She stepped inside and was met by the dark, imposing, yet familiar voice of a Void Chieftan. "Who ventures into my realm?" Gwen straightened and spoke in her most regal voice, "I am Gwenyvier, Queen of the Swarm. Show yourself." The voice just laughed her off. She spotted movement in the corner of her eye, and drew her gunblade as a Void Chieftan stepped out of the shadows. "Do you dare challenge me?" it asked with a hint of humor in its voice. Gwen blew a hair out of her face and retorted, "Dare? No, I punish. I command your allegiance; failure will result in-" Before she could finish, the Chieftan laughed loud and menacingly. "Ha ha ha ha ha! You are in no position to bargain when I hold the lives of your friends by a thread." He brought a reactor control rod into the light. Without that...the ship would explode on takeoff!!

"NO!!" Gwen exclaimed.
"Yes indeed. What are you going to do about it? Cry?"
"Maybe. Or maybe I'll just kill you for it."
"You can't kill the Swarm. I will respawn."
Now it was Gwen's turn to laugh. "Ha ha ha...ah, you're bluffing. Chieftans are not fully consumed by the Void, and thus can't respawn."

Silence. She flipped her gunblade in her hand. "Join me, Chieftan," she said quietly. Instead of obeying her, he drew his sword. "No," he said simply.

She let out a battle cry and charged at him, holding her blade high as if to chop at him. He predictably stepped aside, so she curved her blade around to strike him at the waist. Her sword made contact and slid across harmlessly. She skidded to a stop and whipped around just in time to clash edges with his massive troika. Unwilling to engage in a battle of brute force, she ducked under his sword and forced it to collide with the wall. She rolled behind him, spun and cut his leg with the tip of her sword. He went down with a cry of frustration.

She straddled him and pointed her sword at his face. "Give me the rod, or you die." The chieftan laughed and replied curtly, "Certainly." He tried to hit her with it, but she predicted as much and leaned forward to avoid it, plunging her sword into his face as she did so.

Now that he was dead, she got off him and picked up the control rod. Knowing that there was little time to lose, she raced to the place where she entered the mountain and leaped up to the hole. She effortlessly jumped back outside into the ice and raced down the mountain with the rod in hand.

I've got to reach them before they try to take off!

Oh hello everyone.

First off, sorry for not visiting for a long long time. See now, I've got a full plate and this is kind of off my proverbial menu. Sanaca observed the relation between the Luminite and Albert, well, in theory they were opposites, so it would make sense to cancel each other out. As her mind mulled over this, a morbid idea popped up.

In most instances, when something crosses with its opposite, both are destroyed. If...

As Archemiday went off to conitnue to repair the ship in any way he could, Sanaca dropped down next to Albert.

"I'm worried; I don't want to say anything, but if Luminite really will eradicate the swarm that has infected you, well, I'm afraid that like many viruses, it will have already ingrained too much within you, meaning that... You might get 'hurt' if we don't purify you soon. Your body will already have succomed too much to it, so that when we try and heal you, you might not... survive." Sanaca turned back, picking up the small shard of Luminite sitting on one of the surgical tool containers. "I'm really, sorry. But perhaps, if you can expose yourself to Luminite for prolonged periods of time, you'll be able to postpone it, but I might be wrong about this whole thing." Smiling a bit, she rested her hand on Alberts. "I'm going to go out foraging to see if I can find anything important, you're welcome to come if you want."

Sanaca knew the danger she was posing to herself as she stepped out the medical room. At any moment Albert might fall into the swarm's grip, but she trusted he would do the right thing. Walking out the shuttle, she spied Archemiday resting on the ground next to the ship, looking quite depressed.

"Arche, I'm going to go out looking for anything useful, keep an eye on Albert if he stays behind and be careful. If you have any Luminite, I think you were right to assume that it'll help him." In a complete act of stupidity, she ran over and wrapped him in her arms. "Don't feel so down, it's bad for your health. I'm sure we'll figure out how to cure Albert and get this ship back in working order in no time at all." Pulling back, she ran off into the woods.

I looked at the sample of luminite. It had dimmed significantly, though my eyes still hurt a bit looking at it. But suddenly, a shimmer of light flooded the room, increasing the "IT HURTS MY EYES" factor to the extreme. I quickly turned away. A sudden pain bounced through my body. I winced, but I was just doing as Sanaca directed. Maybe it will help me. she knows more about this than I do. But god, it hurts! Couldn't there be SOME way to have the light dim?

...AAAAAAND it dims. After a full 2 minutes of light therapy I still didn't feel any better. It was going to take a lot of light exposure to cure this kind of swarm infection.

I was blushing hard, and before I could say anything, Sana ran into the forest. I heard a crunch from one of the leaves nearby. I stood alert, watched the source of the sound. (Thin, you can decide if this is Gwen or a bunch of bandits by your next post.)

What could be worse than the Swarm?

A black, wretching humanoid figure leaped into view. Neither bandit nor Void form, it was unlike anything Arch had ever seen. As it approached him snarling, many more like it stepped into view.

There was a whole army of them.
And they were all headed towards the ship.

What. The. Bleep. These things were monsters! I used my minimum flight power to hover above them. I started shooting down at them, when I realized that I was not their target, but the ship. Where at first there were a hundred of these monsters, there was now over a thousand of them, all of them intelligent and bloodthirsty. They could be Swarm, but they are too intelligent.
They could be humans, but they are too bloodthirsty.
They could be beasts, but they are too numerous.

What are they?

Well, whatever they are, one of them just ripped Arch's armor to shreds with a single swipe of its claw. The longer you stay in the ship, the more likely it is you will die. They aren't after the ship; they are after the largest collection of humanity they can find.

Which, in this case, is inside the ship.

Wow, small things do make big differences!

Sanaca had gotten not too far when a colourful blur caught her eye. Turning back, she saw a gorgeous flower, of a multitude of colours, daintily rising from the ground. In contrast to the land around her, it was quite stunning. The species was completely unrecognizable to her, but she could not find any indication that it contained toxins. gently removing the flower from the ground, she was surprised to find its roots rather shallow. Standing back up, she smiled just looking at it. If it didn't have any useful purposes, it could always be a great decoration.

A cry echoing back the way she came startled her, and she swore she could hear a loud pounding. Putting two and two together, a look of dread crossed her face. Archemiday was in trouble, but it sounded as if there were many attackers. Could a group of bandits, no, an army of bandits be attacking them? She thought as she raced back.

Probably not, bandits wouldn't get into groups that big, and from the slowly escalating roar of feet on the dry forest floor, there was definitely a large quantity of them. Slowing down, Sanaca decided to strategize her move. Though it was quite difficult to discern, she was pretty sure she could tell from which direction the enemies were coming from. Moving carefully away from the sound so that she would face it, Sanaca spotted the movement of some bipedal creature, but it was dark and moving too fast, which Sanaca didn't really have to worry about as more very quickly appeared.

Where was the ship, though? Sanaca couldn't see the ship, not realizing that it was obscured by the swarm of enemies. Suddenly, one launched itself at Sanaca after spotting her. Letting out a scream, she ducked, completely surprised.

It spun around, grabbed her by the hair, and turned her around to face it. It began shaking her violently, weeping and crying something that sounded like, "hepmeaiyaiyaiyaicantakeizanymore!" Tears mixed with blood poured down its face, until it suddenly became violent and kicked Sanaca in the gut.

Not yet on a multitude of levels.

Scrabbling up, Sanaca heaved deep breaths, trying to maintain her composure and remain calm. Her mind raced through the proper medical procedures she should go through, from the pain that was rippling through her abdominal area. Wincing, she sprinted off, her brain barely registering a flash of light. Turning back, she saw the creature stumble back up and initiating chase. Sanaca's eyes widened in horror as she saw just how dire the terrifying situation was. The entire forest seemed to be overwhelmed by the humanoid monstrosities.

Not bothering to count how many more had joined in her pursuit, Sanaca ran away, begging to make it out alive. Hoping against odds that she would find Vendetta and actually reach it in time, Sanaca dashed through the seemingly endless trail of green.
