Gwen stands up, but falls into my lap. I blushed as she got up. I picked up my shirt off the ground and put it on, and picked up my armor. "Yes, lets go back to the inn.". I said. My legs felt weak, so I just decided to fly slowly and low. My head hanged low. Phew... Looks like she still thinks I'm her Archemiday.
Times Have Changed
Miyu slept mostly peacefully. She did awaken once or twice to the sound of fighting outside. Typical. She'd need to adjust a little to this, but all in all nothing too great or new to Vendetta.
(Out of context: Did you know that Vendetta means for a bitter, destructive feud? Yeah. That's what I thought. You did.)
(OOC: LOL I just thought of the most awkward romance ever!! (Arche keeps thinking "I'm her Archemiday" So if Gwen ever read his thoughts when he said this, she would assume that he means, like romantically, I'm yours HAHAH))
"Are you guys okay with going back by yourselves? I wanna see what other things we can take from these Enforcers." Sanaca said, turning back.
Since atgatg had the manhood to leave me hanging for two days, I'm making another character soon. Just say he glitched and blew up all over the marketplace.
Or do you want me to do the god-awful deed and powerplay? I'm really far behind compared to you guys, so....?
((Whoopsies!))
Blue squeezes out of Vinny's grasp only to be shot in the head by the market vendor. She dies, the end.
Bye bye, Blue.
((Note for Vinny: Blue has a map to her home in the forest that has a stash of goodies)
(OOC Well, seeing as no one has said anything, I think I'll just do what thin did and just jump in. Stop me if you want to.)
Red was aware of everything the moment he was pushed out of the aircraft. As he fell, he turned to look across the wastelands. He landed and rolled awkwardly, not used to the cluncky feel of the cobalt. He remembered seeing a town while in the air. Towns meant people, money, food and shelter. It also meant danger. He wasn't ready for that just yet. Looking down at the ground, Red noticed old knight tracks. He followed them for a while, but veered off towards the left when they turned towards the town. As he walked, he assesed his situation. He had cobalt armor, and a rusty brandish. If Red could upgrade the brandish into a fireburst, he would have the damage he needed. Continuing to go through his arsenal, he noticed several materials already in place. These included some driftwood, a mug of misery, some bronze bolts and 5 of each coloured shard. Taking out the mug, he began to head for water.
A few hours later, Red found a small pool of water. It seemed to be fed from underground, and it was surrounded by a thick ring of trees. Filling the mug, he took a sip of the water. It was cold and refreshing. All he needed now was some food. He decided on making a shelter in the trees, and finding a large crevice imbetween two branches worked perfectly. He sliced a few branches off, giving him a comfortable yet tight space to sleep. Dropping to the floor, he ran out of the trees to find some food, picking up dead twigs and branches along the way.
Hello?
Is anyone here?
Hi Ariav!
Is anyone else here?
(( I am. Just watching. I am sleeping right now. Just get to the inn. ))
On the way back to the inn, I decided to talk to Gwen to make the trip go faster as the sky got darker. "Say, Gwen, are you healing ok?"
I try to smile at Arch, but it's a half-hearted smile. My wound is starting to fester, and now feels like a living hell in there. "Yeah, I'm healing okay. I'll be better once I'm able to apply a healing weave." I look at the bandage over his wound. I wonder if I could heal it...
"Are you healing okay, Arch?"
"I'm healing fine. As a valkyrio-". Oh. Toast. "I'm healing perfectly fine, nothing wrong here. We better get to the inn soon before night gets even darker. I have a performance at the inn to do.
My face when Archemiday reveals that he is a Valkyroid.
Yeah.
I fling the tip of my sword to his neck. "We're going nowhere, boy. Talk to me before I fry your tin brain."
Sanaca grabbed as much of the supplies from the Enforcers as she could. Then in one of the tents, she spotted a Flourish and in good condition too. She grabbed everything she could and quickly made her way back up the trail, purposely avoiding the 'dearly departed' Enforcers. She eventually caught up to Gwen and Archemiday, but she was exhausted. She took a break, overhearing a bit of their conversation.
"Uu-uhm..... I-I said the w-wrong word that's all!". She nudged the sword closer. No excuse was going to save me, so I spread my wings and fly away. Until I hit a tree 5 feet away. "P-please don't k-kill me!". (Minor power play in effect). "Who are you. Answer now.". Gwen asked. "W-well I may or may not be that valkyriod who was tricked into releases a couple of codes to a stranger resulting in the death of a couple people. Please don't kill me I have to help Sanaca >_<". She is going to kill me. I always did enjoy working with her, but those days are over now that she is going to kill me. With a calibur of all things.
Red swung his brandish in a fast combo, slicing the Chromalisk across its side. He skidded out of the way as it's tongue flicked out, reflecting off the edge of his armor. He rolled towards the left and pounced down on the chroma, smashing its skull. Grabbing the crowns and materials that flopped out of its body, he pulled it towards his camp.
Licking his lips, red attended the fire, and began to schedule what he would need to do. He decided on making his fire burst brandish first. He remembered all the materials he needed, having created the brandish before. A large weapon would attract quite a crowd, so he decided against making a full 5* version. 3* was good enough for him. Pacing around the camp, he decided on reaching the town at midnight, locating a crafting machine and making his fireburst. In the remaining light, he set out to gather the materials he would need, slowly walking along towards the town, hoping he would be able to get everything he needed along the way.
A few hours later, he was ready to head into the town. All he needed to do now was to check the place out, and wait for nighttfall.
Reds eyes opened, alarmed as he saw... a knight? it couldn't be a knight! This 'knight' had wings! He flew so gracefully, beautifully, each wing beat making him glide through the air... Red smirked. He hit a tree! so much for gracefull! Someone else followed him, who looked like he was going to kill the 'knight'?! Alarmed, Red creeped closer, listening into the conversation as best he could. Glimpses of words came as the wind pushed them towards him, but he couldn't hear much.
"...nowhere, boy. Talk to me..."
"...w-wrong word that's all!..."
"... are you. Answer now..."
"...valkyriod who was tricked..."
so that's who he was! A valkyriod! Just why would someone kill him? It didn't seem fair... Red sighed, regretting every move he made, knowing it lead to trouble.
"Oi Gorgoface!"
Red quickly threw a vial he had made on his way to the town, for a time like this. It exploded on the supposed murderer, and lit him up in flames.
Without looking back he grabbed his bomb, charged it behind his back and waited for the murderer to run after him.
(OOC Lel gorgorfaceXD anyway, hope this doesn't ruin anyones plans...)
I kept slipping in and out of consciousness, it was really annoying. Maybe first I'm thinking about what I'm going to do and then I fall into unconsciousness. Or maybe I'm having a nice dream and then I wake up. The latter is probably more infuriating. I wish Sanaca would come back already; I was getting worried. There were only three reasons I stayed:
1. Because I still had to thank Sanaca.
2. Because this bed is comfy.
3. Because I am heavily injured.
I don't know if 1 and 2 are valid reasons, but I had enough reason to stay.
Let's say you...
Escaped the vendor
Got into a small fight while everyone was gone
Left Vendetta
Adventuring on your own.
Yes.
This.
(OOC: @Ariav: Gwen's long strawberry hair should make it obvious that she is a female. She has wings too, but they are not visible.
Also, @Archemiday: even a minor power play isn't a good idea there. I chose Gwen's words carefully.)
Oh no...not again...
Something explodes on my back, and I light up in flames. It hurts like hell itself on my wounds, and I immediately drop to the ground and roll to put it out. "YOU!! WHY DID YOU DO THAT!?" I try to stand, but a wave of sorrow sweeps over me, and I drop to my knees. "I WASN'T-WASN'T GOING TO KILL HIM!!"
Tears begin to well up in my eyes. "I...I...I just wanted to know what- what happened to my Arch." I bury my head in my hands and sob. They're probably not even listening. They probably just upped and ran away while I was putting out the stupid fire.
What did I do wrong?
Why me?
I'm wounded and burned! The monsters will eat me alive!
Why did I have to threaten Arch?
Someone help me...please...I meant no harm.

Sanaca dashed out, what was going on? First Gwen decides to attack Archemiday, then she gets attacked and now she's on the ground crying. Without caring where the attack came from, Sanaca yelled for them to stop, dropping won next to Gwen.
"I know we haven't known each other for long, but just calm done, you'll be fine." Sanaca pulled out some burn medicine from the supplies she had stolen and applied more of her special pain reliever. "But you have to tell me, why did you attack Arche?" She asked, pulling back a bit.
(OOC: Wait, so now we get peeps crushing on Sanaca?)
And Gwen spontaneously combusted. I felt like a monster. I had impersonated someone she cared for, when he was dead. Sana rushed up and started helping her. "I think she attacked me once she realized I wasn't the Arch she was thinking of.". I put my hand on her hand and did my best as a fallen one to relieve the pain using valkyriod magic, which was pretty weak.
(Arch has a small crush on Sana, but he meant helping as in keeping the room)
Great Scott. Third time. I'll edit.
You kinda did ruin our plans. But that's okay, that's how RPs roll.
@Arch: Gwen didn't "spontaneously combust," she was hit by a fire vial. The offender should have been visible, too.
I know thin. He was focused on Gwen BURNING that made him not notice.
I couldn't stand it anymore. I was sick and tired of waiting! I decided I would at least take a look around Vendetta before I left. I threw off my covers and started out the door when I noticed something, a gleam, coming out of a pack... I went to investigate, it looked like some sort of metal, I wasn't sure what it was. But it looked special. I would ask Sanaca about it later, but right now I had to look around. So I went out of the door of the inn and started off towards the borders of the villlage.
I wipe away a few tears and look up at Sanaca. "I attacked him because I thought he'd done something to Arch. I mean, robotic clones of yourself don't just pop up for no reason."
"Oh, but they do!" declared a familiar voice. A man in a black suit and tie stood a few feet in front of me. He took off his sunglasses to reveal his piercing brown eyes, deep-set into his very stern face. "We have several clones of you. They're not very amicable, though. They were produced quite some time before you were cured of your insanity." My eyes widened. "No! It's impossible!" I shouted, struggling to get to my feet. The man just laughed at me. "I'm afraid not, my dear Gwenyvier. They are most impressive weapons, not to mention a good deal more...loyal." I shifted unsteadily on my feet. "You wouldn't! Do you have any idea how dangerous they are, or how badly your project could backfire!?" The man replaced his sunglasses and turned away. "No. That's why we will test them on you."
I screamed at him, but he vanished without another word. When I lost my balance and fell back down again, everyone was looking at me like I'd seen a ghost.
(OOC: The man appeared to Gwen solely in her mind, and as such is completely invisible to everyone else.)
"I'm actually not a robotic clone of him. Sure, we may look similar and play the same instrument, but I'm sorry I'm not him." I replied. Gwen started talking to absolute NO ONE after that, and then fell down. "You ok Gwen?"
Sanaca grabbed a hold of Gwen.
"I think we need to all head back to the Inn and just take sometime to calm down. We're all tired and hurt, so let's just head back before we get caught up in the night." Sanaca looked over at Archemiday, supporting Gwen on her shoulder. "You've got to get back and play, to keep your word. We can talk about how to beat up one of those creatures later, and we can talk about everything after a good night's rest." Sanaca ushered Gwen along the path, and sighed, what was going on?
(Sorry for my mistakes, and ruining your plans>.<)
Red walked slowly backwards. Was anyone following him? He couldn't drop the bomb, it would make too much noise. He kept walking backwards, suprised no one noticed him. Eyeing a clump of thick bushes, he jumped into them... and dropped the bomb in pain. He didn't know that they were thorny bushes! But he had bigger problems now... A bomb was about to explode on him! Jumping out of the bushes, he felt the bomb explode underneath him.It pushed him forward, and his whole back was now covered in twigs, debree and sharp metal shapes from the bomb. He cried out in pain, realised he was making noise and pulled himself underneath a nearby tree, resting on his front. He tried t look at his back, but all he could see was red twigs, thorns and metal. The sight of it made him pass out.
"True. lets get a move o-" Kablamo! I heard an explosion. Not another event. I flew up and looked for any signs of the explosion. I found where the explosion happened, I flew over. Oh man, this guy got beat up. He had twigs, thorns, and metal in his back. I picked him up and flew back to the group. "Guys, I found another person. Seems like everyone is coming into our care, ey Sana?"
Sanaca tried to smiled, it was nice to know that she was needed, but if this continued, she would... A thought struck her, it made so much sense, and it would be perfect! But when would she be able to do it? She decided to save the idea after things had cooled down and their lives weren't terribly in danger.
"Let's see him," Sanaca said, gently letting Gwen lean against a rock. "Looks like he was hit by an explosive on his back, what was in that thing? These are..." Sanaca leaned in close to inspect the thorns stuck to his back. "This is a toxic secreting thorned plant! This stuff must also be tainted in the same way as that plant I used to knock out the Enforcers, so the poison must be very potent. I need to get back to the Inn to make an antidote." Sanaca pulled out a needle and injected something into the unconscious Knight. "This should slow the spread of the poison. We have to go now, whoever set up the bomb must be out to kill, shrapnel bombs with toxic thorns? That's just crazy!" And with that, Sanaca gestured for the group to move on, and they rushed back to the Inn.
We got back to the inn safely. Sana tended to wounds in the room while I played a song. (I dunno how to hyperlink so): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFKXNdneKNY I waited downstairs for them.
Back at the Inn, Sanaca led Gwen back to her room, while Archemiday carried the poisoned Knight to their room.
"If you need any help, just ask." Sanaca said, briskly returning to their room. By the time she was there, Archemiday was already playing, a beautiful melody sounding through the gruff Inn. Sanaca relaxed at at the sound of the music. smiling, she extracted one of the thorns from the Knight's back and mixed in some herbs, with some proper medical tools, she applied the antidote to the Knight. She continued working, removing shrapnel and foliage form the Knight's back as Archemiday played his tune.
(OOC: @Arche That's an awesome song, but I thought you only had a lute lol, btw < a href = ['link' > word < / a > without spaces and apostrophes.)
Sorry for no dialogue, and a guitar is as close to lute music you are going to find unless I'm bothered to play Mabinogi to make and upload it to YouTube.
There in my room, I start to work on my wounded shoulder while I ponder everything that happened.
I still can't quite believe it. Clones! Of me! If I understood the suited man correctly, my clones are insane, sadistic murderers, bred to hunt and die. They are probably better at killing than I am. They can likely hunt better, too. What edge do I have on them? My sanity? Spiral Order training? I don't even have use of my left shoulder, and I'm supposed to fight off an army of me.
At least, I won't have use of my left shoulder so long as this darn healing weave keeps falling apart on me. I thought I'd learned the technique during my years as the Core's avatar, but I must not have gotten much practice. See, that's the other thing; where did my power go!? I used to be able to make force fields, firebolts, lightning strikes, teleport, telecommunicate...
And everyone I once knew is gone. Theo, Vin, Arch, Jak, Equinox...even Seatus. All I have left is this pitiful excuse for a Valkyroid that calls itself "Archemiday." I have to come to terms with the truth, but...I just can't let go of them. I still hold out hope that they're all alive somewhere, just waiting to be found. I know it's a vain hope.
But even if this new "Arch" is only just a Valkyroid, he's still a person, right? What have I accomplished by hurting him? I can't bring Arch back by finding the truth. I can maybe get closure, perhaps, but not Arch. All I've done is alienate another friend.
Finally, a successful healing weave. My shoulder should heal on its own now. I stand up and realize that I'm insanely thirsty. I stroll down to the inn's dining room (which kinda doubles as a lobby) and request a glass of water.
"It'll cost ya 50 crowns."
!!!
Dear God, may I murder him?
...darn it.
Gwen had come down to the lobby while I had taken a break from my peaceful strumming. I took 50 crowns and handed them the inn keep. "I-I'm sorry for what I did.". I said as I sat next to her. "If you feel like dismantling every bolt in my body go ahead.". I started to retune my lute. I am just a monster. I felt in my right pocket, and the pass was still there. Good.
I kept searching for the trio of knights to return, unfortunately. I never found them it was quite infuriating, I asked around, most of them asked for crowns in exchange for the information, or just plain out didn't know the answer. I did this for about an hour or so with no avail, so I turned back to go to the inn.
~
Day II-- Nighttime
I come back to the inn and I hear a beautiful melody coming from the inn. They must have made it back safely, because that sounds like a lute. I nodded at him, and he seemed to acknowledge that. He didn't really do anything in return, after all, I did sweep-kick him earlier that morning. I needed some food, I was still relatively weak from all of that lying in bed and not eating anything. So, I went to the dining room and ordered something.
((Dang it Arch... I edited it, it doesn't matter. I always hate when somebody posts before me. I have to edit everything. @_@))
Sanaca sat back and sighed with relief, it looked like she had managed to finally remove the most harmful of the shrapnel, and let the Knight rest peacefully on the bed. Tired, she went downstairs to join Archemiday, finding him already talking with Gwen. As she looked around, she also noticed Drewaq, waiting for some food. Sanaca waved at him, then joined Archemiday and Gwen at their table. She didn't speak at first, just stared down, examining the woodwork of the table, so curved and gnarled, just like the twists and turns in life. She sighed again, then looked up, smiling.
"That was some great music Archemiday, you are quite the lute player." Sanaca then glanced at Gwen, noticing her shoulder. "And I see your shoulder has really healed!" Sanaca paused, her smile fading a bit. It had to come out eventually.
"I know we've had a really rough day, but I really want to know what's going on, I knew something was strange when you two first met, but if we keep any more secrets, they'll come and bite us in the back." Sanaca's concern was genuine and heartfelt. "I know I've only known you, Archemiday for two days, and I've only known you for roughly a day, Gwen, but if we're going to survive and make it out here;" She gave a backwards glance at the door. "or even make it back to Haven, we need to trust each other."
I wipe the moisture from my eyes as Arch delivers the 50 crowns to the bartender. "Thanks, Arch." I gulp down the water and hand back the glass. "Look, I'm sorry for how I treated you earlier. You didn't- you didn't deserve...that. Can you...maybe forgive me?" I brush back my hair and bite my lip. I really suck at making apologies...
[after hearing Arch's response...]
Then Sanaca insists on hearing our secrets. They're secrets for a reason, young lady. Even if it's for trust's sake, they won't trust me any better knowing that I was once an insane murderer. "Sanaca...no. Just no." I shake my head ruefully. "Some secrets really need to be kept secret."
But then, what if my clones find her?
I bang my head on the counter and sigh. "Okay, okay, maybe you need to know this one. I was once...once a...you know...I can't do this." I stand up to leave, but my conscience demands otherwise. I plant my hands on the counter and mutter,
"I was once The Finder."
(OOC: Am I supposed to know what a Finder is?)
I placed a link to the thread where she first appeared.
If Gollum were a woman, that would be The Finder.
When an Avatar is selected to represent the Core, the mind of the Avatar is slaved to the Core's. All memories, abilities, and such like are equally shared. However, if the "data link," in this case a telepathic one, is severed improperly, the Core will be unable to restore the Avatar's mind to a stable state. In the best case scenario, the Avatar's mind remains intact, and goes into withdrawal. In worse cases, the mind becomes confused, and the person essentially goes insane.
But insanity doesn't imply evil. In this particular case, the Avatar became corrupted, and thereby the Core as well. The smart thing to do (though not the kindest) would be to transfer all corruption to the Avatar. Here I can't decide whether the Core did it on purpose (being corrupted) or tried to take all the corruption on itself, but backfired and accidentally did the opposite.
Either way, the link had to be severed.
That is how the Finder came to be. She is, in essence, a discarded Avatar.
I don't really want to go in depth, but if we must, we must... xD
First, assuming everyone generally knows what the Finder is, what importance does it hold? And second, why does the Core do that in the first place?
EDIT: I read your description already, it's just I wasn't sure if Sanaca knew it, or if it was a widely known thing.
"Sure, I can forgive you. Just please don't put me at sword point again." "..." "The Finder? That sounds familiar.". I said. I opened up a database on the finder. Oh. So now a man who had given an insane woman valkyroid codes was sitting next to a woman who was another former insane murderer. This shocked me a bit, bit this was her former self. "T-That's... Erm... Interesting. I'm going to finish my playing for the night and take a few minutes to rest.". So I finished playing for the night and stepped outside. This had been a rough day. I sighed a little bit and stretched my wings. I went up to the room. I grabbed the shadow silver and kept it with me so that the injured don't become insane, and slept.
To answer your questions...
What importance does it hold?
-She rumored to be cannibalistic, had no defined hunting pattern (anyone could be a target), traveled frequently (could be in your home right now), and was never, ever caught. Her kill count ranges in the hundreds. How do you know that she has fully recovered?
Why does the Core do that in the first place?
-It selects avatars because it is imprisoned and mostly incapable of influencing the world directly. Severing the telepathic link is often involuntary.
As I waited for my food, Sanaca walked in and waved at me, kind of surprised I waved back. I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me, I did nothing for her, and she got me patched up, and I didn't even mutter thank you...
I finally got my food, it was glorious. Of course, I barely ate for an entire day. Either way, I gobbled it down fast. As I ate my food, I tried my hardest not to eavesdrop, there was obviously some sort of tension going on, looking at the trio's faces. I couldn't really worry about them right now, I had to worry about myself.
I had no where to go, very little crowns, and even though Sanaca patched up my leg along with the rest of my body, it still was numb. I hoped it wasn't going to stay that way forever. I stood up ready to walk out and pay my fee for the food. I put the money on the bar along with a small tip and turned around to walk out the door. I then wavered, What if, I could team with them? We could go to the coliseum together and rack up a huge fortune. No, they all probably hate me. So I walked out the door to try and find bandits, whom I could steal their stolen crowns. I chuckled at the irony as I pushed aside the double doors.
(A van accelerates and rectifies the timestream! Great Scott!)
Any OC that is headed to the inn still heads there.
If you are going anywhere, you remain on that path.
Minor fix: Removed Herobrine
RE-STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART
-------------------------------------------------------------
Miyu felt a warping sensation and suddenly felt dehydrated. The hallucination wasn't occurring yet, but she needed to pick up the slack. Remembering the third tent had water, she went there, only to discover a knight sleeping in it. Moving with tiptoe and being careful not to make any noise, she grabbed the water bottle. There were two of them this time out, she noted. She took one and left the other Knight the second one. Other than that little scare, though, things went exactly the same.
Weird, she decided. But oh well.
