I see where you are going with this, and find it uncomfortable as a play who was use to the previous system, but can see why this change was needed for the long term viability of the game.

For the unbind store, first I propose a mixed system where there is an option (checkbox or otherwise) to keep the current heat level of an item. This would dramatically raise the cost of the unbind.

Second, Create certian weapons that are "collectors" weapons. These weapons are not unbindable, or have a significant multiplyer to the cost (making them effectively not unbindable.) This could be done to only certian steps in a chain, or the entire chain, a x3 to x5 would be reasionable

Last decrease crafting energy costs while increasing unbind costs. When leveling up a weapon, you put in time, and energy (both mist/crystal as well as personal). Spending this time playing the game is what you want to encourage. Calculations can be done to determine exactly what you put into an item, and what it is worth. To those who value their time over thier money, they will allways find a way to exchange them.

Here are where I would put things to start, obviously this is not carefully calculated... If interested I could put more serious thought into where to put the numbers... I can already tell they are more linear that I would like:
