So, here's the gist of the problem.
In every game so far, 30-45 minutes in the game would start doing weird texture glitches. Missing icons and letters and random gibberish instead of backgrounds would dominate the screen preventing an enjoyable experience. Afterwards, the game would simply crash. This either takes a while, or is simply instant. The more times I restart the game, the glitches become sooner, and the crashes more immediate. If I restart after a good 30-minutes or so, though, the is partially fixed. Note that the texture glitches are of the same fashion as shown here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/87412
I don't even know what to say, except for HELP ME. PLEASE.
System specs:
Intel Quad-Core i3-3220 CPU 3.30Ghz
4GB RAM
64bit Windows 7
Intel HD Graphics 2500 1696MB
In-game settings are set to lowest, except for compatibility mode, and the region is Europe. Additionally, the game runs on 32-bit Java through Steam, and I have no idea how to make it 64-bit.
I have tried checking the intergrity of the game cache, and it would always say that 1 file is bad. However, this file seems to go bad again every time I start the game, so...
UPDATE:
I have installed Intel Iris yesterday, and that seemed to substantially mitigate this problem. The only thing that would happen is that the player portrait on the top left would glitch out, either showing a random texture or disappearing completely. Even so, this would fix itself at random points in the game. I'll keep playing to make sure that this indeed fix it.
Note that Norton reported high memory usage while this happened, and indeed SK tends to go over 1GB in RAM, but I suppose that's normal.
