Whilst upgrading our guild hall, we upgraded an empty room in to a alchemy room and were surprised when it did not come with a alchemy station by default. Does it work the same way as an auction house room where the auction house comes with the purchase of the room or do you actually have to buy the alchemy station for somewhere? I'd appreciate some help with this as we are quite confused.

I'm quite confused too, do you mean you bought an alchemy room buy no machines appeared? If that's so, then take a picture, and make this a bug report showing it.
