What do you do to keep the game interesting for you?

You log on but feel strangely unmotivated to play. You hang out in Haven for a bit, check out the auction house and maybe the forums, and then, meh...you're outta here!

So what do other players do to keep the game fun for them?

1. Start or join or swtich guilds. Hopefully meet a bunch of new people.

2. Play one of the mini games.

3. Craft something that requires heating and therefore requires you to play. Perhaps a new weapon you've always wanted to try, or some armor from the shadow lairs.

4. Adopt a newbie. Offer to help a new player to complete some missions. Replaying some of the rank missions can be surprisingly fun when you are playing with someone who is doing it for the first time.

5. Handicap yourself by, for example, doing the Roarmulous Twins mission sans shield. In a group, it's even better.

6. Make meaningful and entertaining contributions to the forums.

7. Try your hand at merchanting.

8. Host a contest.

9. Try to come up with good suggestions for improving the game.

Any other ideas?

When you're this swag this world just bows at your knees

Four. Always four. I tend to only equip items of a star rating that I need for the mission (although I do tend to carry one 5* weapon just incase something goes awry, like greaver swarms)

I find new goals to do, like getting 1,000 Sparks of Life before going to face the Swarm in the Shadow Lairs.

I'm also determined to get 2 Anti-Personnel Spikes Accessories, get all the Gear necessary to complete my Alt Accounts' looks, & get every Bomb I have CTR: VH UVs.

Every time I log on, I always find something to do, be it farming RJP for quick Crowns, T3 Clockwork dives for Materials & Recipes to sell, or play Lockdown to earn some Krogmo Coins.

I will admit, doing the same thing can be a bit boring, but it pays off well. Right now, my goal is to Obtain a Thunderous Plate Mail. I have 500kCr saved up & still have around 2,620,000Cr left to go. It's a lot, but is it enough to keep me from playing? Heck no.

Doc's achievements

Two of my personal favorites: the pain train has no brakes in candlestick and the mollusk one. Pain train is basically, you have to move forward and only forward and always forward throughout a level. No stopping. The mollusk one is where your only movement comes from your mouse key which is binded to move left.

Heh.

When you're out on a venture to become the most daring fashionisto in Haven, Spiral Knights is never boring. And number 4. (Despite the fact I don't have FSC access yet, yada yada.)

I love trying new things!

Matching up weapons makes for learning and creating new tactics. I'm not all too great at switch shooting, but I love giving it a try. My DVS was sitting idle in my arsenal, so I paired it with my magnus and made it work wonders. I've also learned that the dark retribution can speed up some puzzles in the iromclaw munitions factory.

I also like running the arcade, and am finally working on other costumes other than my main angelic one.

What honestly keeps me into

What honestly keeps me into this game now adays is the guild I am with.

These lunatics know how to party.

I've been playing this game since its launch in April 2011, I've done everything one can possibly do and even collected some of the game's rarest items in my time (such as Darkfang Shield) and it has come to a point where it's hard to stick to the game just for the game itself. There's only so many times you can play the same mission before it loses it's shine. Only so many things to do before it's just not the same anymore. Now a days I stick to the Arcade, and socializing with my guild. I always look forward to seeing what OOO releases in the future, this game really is one of my favorites and I enjoy every bit of content OOO delivers.

Personally I've never really seen why people hate on Three Rings for content. In my experience they actually release content faster than most games I played. In the end it is impossible to please everyone, there will always be something the company does that some people won't be in favor of. However, unlike so many companies that just want to make profit, OOO really tries to listen to the community and build the game that the community wants to see. I've never really run into a company so dedicated to keeping their community so happy.

So really guys, give them a break. Say thank you for all the hard work they are doing to keep this game running for you. If you don't like something, voice your opinion. But do it respectfully, Posting anger threads over content doesn't solve anything. Make your opinion heard through suggestions, not through rage posts. I guarantee if you remain respectful and simply address what you see as a problem, Three Rings will listen.

Anyway going back on topic - I feel my time as a Knight has been rather successful. Even though I'm a retired no good dead weight who sits around haven all day, I still enjoy this game deeply and enjoy every moment I have with my friends and my guild. As for new content, whenever we get new content to play you can guarantee I'll grab my sword and get to work like every other Knight.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

The activity spike in my guild really helps during dreary times, plus I have a butt ton of sets for finish (currently on Dread Skelly Helm).
