It seems to me that being able to deconstruct bound items would facilitate experimentation with gear combinations, with the shards and half the CE fo the total construction cost returned but not any of the other materials or crowns.
Especially the shards.
I like to try different costumes for my little action figure, and I didn't enjoy some costumes and equipment as much as I enjoyed other set ups, and shards and CE are sort of general in their usage.
It just seems like experimenting with different gear should be easier than not, since the primary motivation of doing so is to find out the funnest combination.
I know there are players that think other people know whats best or better, I disagree, I don't think you can know which pie you prefer until you've tried a few different ones, it seems that it could be encouraging to be able to recoup some resources if one combination of gear turns out to be less fun than another combination of gear.
