What guns are you hoping to see in the update?

Obsidian Carbine made the Biohazard less ideal. And Catalyzers in general are a niche weapon.
I'm hoping to see two dozen entirely new 5* guns like Nick's announcement implied rather than damage-type and status variants of old guns with prerequesites that stay relevant for about 2 hours until you've heated them, a mechanical buff for Catalyzers and a new Catalyzer variant. I'm hoping for these imbalances to be resolved:
- Blitz Needle vs Plague Needle (Blitz is too strong.)
- Sentenza vs Obsidian Carbine (Carbine should have reduced damage compared to Sentenza.)
- Sentenza vs Obsidian Carbine (Carbine should have reduced damage compared to Sentenza.)
- Alchemers versus Shard Bombs (Shard bombs have a hit limit while Alchemers do not. There is no reason why one should have it and not the other as they work on the same principle of 'spreading out' to inflict damage and status to crowds.)
- Iron Slug vs Supernova (Supernova is as strong as Slug, but has three shots and allows much more mobility and range.)
- Iron Slug vs Callahan. (Callahan has a status and Iron Slug does not. Other pure-damage guns usually have more damage than their status equivalents.)
- Iron Slug vs Everything Else. (Magnus line needs a buff.)
- Switch-shooting allows for infinite ammo, removing the purpose of having a reload mehanic.
I want a dual wield gun. Y'know, craft 2 guns, use 2 guns. Actually this has probably been thought of, and the tools are not available to do it.
(Like Iron Slug?)

I agree on the reloading mechanic, but they should still have some sort of switch shooting mechanic, It should just need more skill.

More serious now, A return of the piercing antigue would be great. Also I want to get my hands on the grim repeater, JK isnt dying fast enough already (come on, even without SS we know its a shadow gun).
I don't really know about the "buff the iron slug" thing.I has a full damage bar already,do you mean to increase the speed?

Shh, we must be vague but also help out these poor people for what is coming.
Even if I already know what they're like, I'm still excited to collect them all nonetheless.
Looking at vague stat bars on Spiral Knights equpiment has never the best way to analyze equipment in Spiral Knights, except statuses.
I really want a magnus-line buff. It could see a large increase in damage while remaining balanced.
The slow speed of pulsar line bullets in no way makes up for the competitively large damage and AOE, and moderate status on hit.
Nick said they would tackle the bug of internal richochets on the alchemer line. This should either not be removed, and labeled as a feature, though OHKO of the charge on a lumber is probably not okay, I hope they balance out the removal of internal richochets by adding more bullets spreading out from the main charge bullet, to add to the crowd control and richochet aspect.
and the new gunner set better not be "Mad Gunner" armor. (unless it boosts ASI too)

I'm crossing my fingers for they release a gun to counter Devilites. Sick of the little Trojan things. Possibly a machine gun of some sort that does damage depending on distance but has a strong interrupt. Think of it as the Heavy's Minigun from TF2, and no I am not trying to rip off this.
Have you tried Iron Slug? It needs a buff.
The damage bar being 'full' doesn't indicate anything. Most 5* swords and bombs extend far beyond the bar's visual limit.
I'm not hoping for any guns because I already seen them all. I'm hoping for those armors.
I want polaris and blitz to be nerfed and slug to be usable. that's all.

This is what I'd bet on, if Apocrea is an indication. Not that I wouldn't mind at all, since I like the new Apocrea stuff and wouldn't mind some 'new' guns.

But if the damage bar is full, how will they fit more damage into it?
And yes, I feel about the same way as you do in regards to this "gunner update".
The damage bars are just a visual guesstimation of the relative damage output to other swords/weapons, as is the speed bars.
Stuff that is actually new, and well-thought out instead of what I'm dreading to be a hot mess that is going to throw off the balance even more. :s

I'm quite content with the type of guns we already have thou we could always use a 5* piercing antigua or an elemental blitz, but entirely new type of guns would be amazing: I want to try new ways to attack!
Also, while I'm also excited for more gunner armors, I'm a bit less hopeful in that regard... probably because I already have my preferred gunner set and heating 5* stuff right now is almost impossible. I'll wait to see what OOO has under their sleeve with them.
Also, can we please expect a similar update for bombers? I-I JUST WANT AN ELEMENTAL BLAST BOMB, OOO. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!

I dont think its that the blitz is too strong, it's that the plague needle is too weak. Nerfing Blitz would just make a whole lot of people angry. Buffing the plague needle would be better option, imo.
I'm hoping for an Elemental Autogun Line that spew expanding Supernova Shots that inflict Strong Fire.

Weapon balancing needs to happen, but probably wont. Honestly, I think Polaris only needs a slight nerf. Like a two shot clip. And Catalyzers need something like have the charges auto-detonate instead of disappear.
But lets be honest, OOO will make some stupidly OP thing that randers like every other gun useless.
Polaris buff, Blitz Needle buff, iron slug nerf, and another acheron buff incoming!!! (yes dimwit, I know acheron isnt a gun).
Ooh, lets not forget a Buff to all brandishes to make charges have 10 explosions.
Kinda curious about what the Armors will offer.
We have two ASI Sets(Nameless/Justifer), one DMG Set(Shadowsun) & seperate Helm(Cyclops Cap), one Helmet that provides a CTR Bonus(Mask of Seerus), & a Hybrid Specialist(Deadshot).
I wonder if there's going to be a CTR Set. Heck, introduce an MSI Set & I just might try my hand at Gunslinging.

But I am intrigued on the armors stats that are going to come wif the update.
Plague Needle can instantly kill Trojans up until a 3-man elite party, where you'll need to follow up with a regular burst to finish them off. You'll understand me if I think such a weapon has no use for a buff.
Pure Piercing Antigua line > everything.
PLEASE buff the Antigua guns. They're my favorite, and I hate using Alchemers.

Well, I wouldn't quite fire that round yet. There's some silver bullets loaded for it, but a lot of it might be affected by bullet drop for a lot of people. We still have the armors to take a shot at, though.
Good Lord... don't give OOO any ideas. Guns with consumable bullets would be pretty poopie
I already know the guns to come, and it kills me that the test server isn't up, or that we can't offer our suggestions on them because of the no spoilers rule.
I personally feel that if the community could get a say before they even hit testing phase, it could lead to extremely balanced weapons. OOO needs to treat us as more than players, they need to treat us as if we work for them too, but for free. I mean, we're constantly exposed to the game, we constantly find bugs and errors and analyze all the stats... OOO needs to utilize their player base as a tool for improving
Oh, yeah, it would be way more balanced. No, seriously, it would. Number one rule of video games: don't trust the company to balance their game - trust the players. After all, they're the ones who play it.
I kinda wonder if they have playtesters within the community, or if they just leave it to themselves and the test servers. If not, I volunteer! New stuff ftw!
I have experience in balancing games for various secondlife Sims, not as a developer, but as a player. The developers came to me with questions about their game, as well as various other players, and most of the time, they were surprised to hear ideas that they never dreamed of.
With a community this big, I can see why they tune a lot of us out... But I actually read the suggestions, bug reports, and technical issues, and I'm happy to read them and discuss them until a conclusion is reached where more people are happy, instead of upset.
A mid-power Needler-type gun that can be aimed during the barrage. Be able to sweep 20-30 or even 45 degrees in one shot!
An auto fire with maneuverability is a tricky balance, we have multiple factors to consider which are move speed, recovery time, damage per shot, shots per trigger, charge style, with such ease of movement and a possible high dps, it needs what is called a bane, something that is a noticeable negative effect
I hope the antigua shoots rainbows (one of every damage type lolololololo)

I want the Polaris to be rendered officially useless. And all the other Polarises too if those will ever exist.
