The mini monsters disappear from the minimap when they attack.

Due to their long attacks, the glob drops (slime) and scarab ones have lengthy times not in the minimap. The dust bunnies also disappear, but it is harder to catch with the faster attack.

Is this intentional? They appear on the minimap when they are not attacking.
