A knight who cares :D That's how Blue the Wolver was supposed to come into the story, but people just don't wanna help out. have to think of another way.

Do you guys think I should add links to music in the story and have you guys play it while you read? I did it once with some friends of mine and they said it enhanced the story.

Missiles flew overhead as the Gremlins pushed the knights further back. Spiral Medics rushed back and forth carrying supplies and munitions over to the ragtag garrison the knights had set up. A gremlin and a few knights stood positioned around a holo-map of the fortress, studying it for weaknesses.

"Do you know nothing, Gremlin? You did help build this fort!" Said one of the knights. "Tell us something useful, for-"

"Shut your trap," Said Betrayus. "I built that thing to be impenetrable from everywhere but the front door, and that is now heavily guarded. I both curse and approve my work." The other knights groaned, they would most likely lose this battle if help did not come.

Will saw the desperate situation below, and he knew that this would be a long mission.

"It's too hot to land, sir!" Yelled the pilot from the cockpit. "What do we do?" Will and the team armed themselves with flight packs.

"Drop us over the camp, we'll take care of things from there!" Will ordered. The pilot nodded, and brought the ship around to the garrison. They all jumped out of the plane, and the flight packs did the rest. Mechanical wings, helped them glide towards the camp. Nick aimed carefully as he fell, and took out a Darkfang Mender. He smirked. When the team landed, they were met the commanding officers.

"Ah, finally help." Said Betrayus. "You don't look like much though." The knight next to him glared, then saluted the team.

"Defender Malkalome, sir!" The knight saluted. Aekun ran up to them, munching on a cookie…again.

"Glad you could join us, Soran." Aekun said. "We need your help at dismantling the turret guns that are guarding the front gate. We sent stealth teams over there, but none of them have come back. I was hoping you and your team could get the job done." Will nodded.

"I need to know where I'm going." Will said. "Where are the guns?" Aekun brought them over to a map. Betrayus pointed at a choke point.

"This is where the guns keep slaughtering us. The guns are manned, so if you sneak past their crosshairs, you could possibly get to the guns. From there, you should find the controls inside the gun and dismantle it."

"We'll get ready." As Will walked away, a message buzzed on his commset.

"Soran, this is Kora. We have gotten wind of a secret Gremlin weapon hidden inside the facility you are attacking, and it is operational." She said. "If you get rid of this as well, it would be a great addition to our cause."

"Understood."

Gremlin Warmaster Tharix stood in the fortress' highest tower. He watched the knights below, feeble and weak against his defenses. A gremlin approached him from behind.

"Warmaster, the prisoner is ready for interrogation." Said the gremlin. "Your course of action?" Tharix turned to him.

"Take me to the prisoner."

Nick scoped in, surveying the area. A squad of thwackers patrolled the gun. Nothing to worry about. He signaled Will and Doomskull, who created a diversion while Eve snuck into the gun with Oberon. Doomskull blocked a hammer strike, and kicked the thwacker violently to the side. Will sliced another in half, and fired at a thwacker behind him with his Valiance.

Inside, Oberon snapped a techinician's neck, while Eve shot the other in the head. She pushed the corpse aside and sat down in the control panel. She aimed at the other gun, and fired. After she was done, Oberon dragged his black blade across the control panel, rendering it useless. Aekun peeked over the edge, to find the guns inert.

"This is our chance!" He said. "Sharpshooters, get ready to take care of any other Gremlins that come out! Defenders, get to the front! Knights!" Aekun unsheathed his sword.

"CHARGE!"

Will and the team joined the knights at the bridge, where Gremlins were falling to the advancing knights. The battle seemed to be in the favor of the knights…until two imposing steel cubes fell from the ceiling. They unfolded into two mechanical deadnoughts. Frozen grins of malice were etched onto their iron faces. They hefted their giant maces and ground their shields into the floor, getting ready to rush at the knights. The defenders backed up, sweaty and nervous. The deadnoughts charged, scattering the knights everywhere. Will squinted, smoke getting in his eyes. Before his vision cleared, the side of a spear smacked him in the chest, knocking him into the wall. The mechanical deadnaughts grunted, something between a metal scream of pain and laugh of cruelty. Will got up, sword in one hand, gun in the other, and attacked.

Tharix hurriedly walked down the hallway. The clanging of metal and rumbling of stones loosening hastened his descent towards the infamous cell where they kept her. But before he reached the door, a huge pile of rubble and metal beams rained down on the entrance. Explosions started to happen above. He grimaced, and set a bomb on the ground before walking back the way he came.

Up above, the knights were fighting the to mecha deadnoughts, and the knights weren't doing well. Not even Doomskull's hammer could penetrate the shield. Nick managed to land a few shots on it's back, but it seemed to have no effect on the hulking beasts. The whole charging force was incapacitated. Just when all seemed lost, a huge blast of energy knocked one of the deadnoughts on its back. In the distance stood Kora, outfitted in battle gear and several Spiral Wardens flanking her. They had some of the weapons retrieved from the Intel Center in their hands.

"Wardens, take out those deadnoughts!" Kora ordered. The Wardens obeyed. The Wardens shield bashed the hulking robots, knocking them back, while the others flanked the deadnoughts and stabbed them from behind. The Wardens were soon done with their work. Kora contacted the garrison, alerting them to move the base up to the bridge.

"I see I arrived in the nick of time, Soran." Kora remarked. She studied the pile of corpses and all the wounded from the deadnought attack. She turned back to Will.

"There are two important weapon vaults hidden in this base. You must find these vaults and disable all the guards there so we can salvage the Gremlin weapons. However, I've heard there is a very dangerous robot guarding each vault. It's your choice to decide which one to go to first."
