Can I earn energy for free somehow. I want to start a guild for people who just started the game/just made a new character like me. I have played this game for a bit but never needed energy except for the old days of limited play.

As far as starting out and
As far as starting out and earning crowns goes. From doing some missions and grinding the first three levels of the Arcade, expect it to take about 21 hours of play before you have the 6800 crowns to buy your first batch of 100 energy. That is killing every mob on each level ... and I started just doing the first level and exiting until I was more confident as well. 3 levels is 400-800 crowns it seems.

You are probably new to the game, Tier 1 depths do not have high crown payout except for Snarbolax. Currently, two Jelly King runs give enough crowns to buy 100 CE on elite mode. You can also do Snarbolax runs on Elite mode to get crowns if you have no access to the Jelly King Mission. Arcade usually do not usually give alot of crowns unless there are arenas in it but I mainly do arcade runs for fun or to replenish my Sparks of Life and alchemy otbs.
For new players I reccommend to progress as fast as possible in the missions until you unlock the Sovereign Jelly (Think that's the name). Then you can farm that mission to get yo(ur 3* gear.

Old Game
I haven't played much, but I got this game when it was old, and back then, you could get a max of 100 free CE every day. Except that was the limit. That was how much free CE you could get in 1 day, and the max free CE you could have.

That's what amazes me. Also feels like an eternity since ME was in the game. Those were the days...
Well you can earn Crowns for free, which you can then buy Energy with.
But otherwise no.
