After returning from a long break and coming back to SK out of all the changes this one seriously bothers me the most...

It was just so practical being able to see how many crowns you had on you at any given time, whether is was going through clocks works and easily seeing how much money you obtained from a certain mob or easily seeing how much money you earned through a depth. Having to look into your inventory just feels like so much effort which seriously isn't needed. Why was it even moved in the first place?!

do i have OCD...

Solution

Keep your inventory open all the time. Now theres a map toggle buttom that shows a bigger portion of the map. So theres really no need to pay that much attention to the right side of the game screen anymore.

No, that is not a valid excuse for not adding this feature back in Spiral Knights. I mean, okay, this might probably be the only solution to display the crown bar. But it wouldn't hurt to bring the crown bar back under the minimap.

+1. I still don't really understand why it was taken away, it didn't really hurt anything and it was just a helpful thing to always have around.

personally, i think that it was taken out in response to the people who make SK vids. Personally, if i made them, i wouldn't like everyone to know how many crowns i normally keep on me, and have them asking about it in the comments. I know that i could convert them the energy, but i prefer to have some crowns too. If i made vids, i guess i could transfer the crowns to an alt, but that just seems like too much work.

How about making it a toggleable-option? I'd give a +1 to that.

I accept that you think differently and am open to opinion.

Yeah, why the hell did they

Yeah, why the hell did they take it off? It saves me time to not hit the I key just to see how much dosh I have, and why did they do that with the energy?

It was taken out to reduce the massive emphasis on "go grind for money". The developers don't want us to merchant, or farm, or any of that-- they want us to play the game and have a good time.

I'm not making this up and this is not an opinion. Its what Nick said and maybe for the best. And yeah, I questioned it too at first. But then I realized- after and when they made energy a non-issue-- that it really, really, really, doesn't matter ho w much money you have in Spiral Knights.

Have a look at the UI of this MMO played by several million people for almost ten years. Do you see money anywhere on that screen?

You can look wherever you want, it's not there. You have to open the inventory to see it.
