The Apocrean event happened around Halloween time last year, my guess is that the next one will be around the same time. It would make sense for it to happen that way actually.

The black kat event has resurfaced, so Apocrea might be coming around soon enough.

They'll probably do gunner update, followed by Apocorea.

to me, that wouldn't make a lot of sense... the maskeraith is already dark, i would guess a drakon reskin, just because the color would be drastically diffrent on the drakon

Why? Because it will be another darkness version and it has already been done before. So all that needs to happen now is to plop that Black kat right onto paint.net, then give a it slightly darker shade of black! Before you know it, OOO has money flowing in from the walls.

As for the Apocrcea, it will either come soon, or in half a year. When It does, I'm going to actually try crafting the items instead of trying my luck for ridiculously high prices in the Auction House...
