Other than status themes, the addition of night on levels randomly.

At the gate, an NPC knight[most likely a recon knight] stands next to a locker filled with recon-light packs that are auto-added to a knight that passes through. Every knight is individually lit with a circle of light.

Different from Candlestick Keep in that light in constant, though the darkness is pitch black until you have explored it.

This can bring a more lively feel to levels, and prompt new night-based creatures/themes that arn't seen in the daytime, as well as special loot/room designs to reward exploration.

This also makes more obvious use of the toggle map that was recently added.

This might have been suggested before at some point, but not sure. Please give your thoughts!

A neat concept, but it'd just encourage people to farm KoA even more because the night will slow them down.

Kind of cool, but I'd rather the night levels not have a fog of war type thing going for them. That sounds really annoying. I'm also scared that it would turn literally half the game into night levels, which would be kind of a drastic change.

Perhaps instead, all daytime levels could have a small chance like 5% of levels becoming night levels and becoming sleep themed. Specifically, teal coloured, sleep themed phantoms would spawn on top of whatever else there is, and like you said there would be some kind of unique reward associated.

Fog of war isn't innately bad though-- I'd love to see a new set of levels based around it, provided OOO gives it the appropriate reward and doesn't pull a compounds on us again.

Only when the night is right!

@Sandwich-Potato I meant in standard arcade or maybe missions sans boss runs. Maaaaybe 1% chance on a boss run to get a night theme but that's as far as I'd go.

@Fehzor I like the idea of it being between a 5-10% chance of becoming a night level. That does make more sense to me. I just like the idea of "Fog of War" as you put it too much, I really would love something to shock, surprise, and give a new sense of adventure to me once in a while. So far the closest they've gotten to that is with Apocrea. Sleep themes sound good, would add to that urgency feel I would like to experience if a teammate were to fall asleep amidst enemies. Maybe sleep-based traps.

Exactly, this new difficulty would discourage people from trying out the Arcade, and just start KoA again and again, simply restarting when it became a night theme.

1) The boss levels won't be

1) The boss levels won't be touched. The devs won't touch them, and i apreciate that =]

2) There are so many randomly generated levels, just add a small change won't be so much. Night, rain, thunders (along with night OR rain), all would be awesome. That is something to be carefull though. There are levels where you HAVE to see far away, in order to throw something, for example.

So it should be a whole new level, like Candle levels. That's harder. If you want something simple, then it would be just a slightly darker version of a map.

Quite the contrary

@Sandwich-Potato I think the new challenge would encourage players to do Arcade runs for the chance to find night themes. Unlike the compound levels, they'd reward players with extra loot/special rooms to help balance even if it was done wrong. The loot alone would be enough for players to seek it out if balanced right.

@Dandi I agree, as I said I'd prefer the boss levels not to be touched at all in this regard. Also the level would be redesigned, so certain aspects of the level that normally need you to see far away would be replaced with something else to better suit a night theme yet still rewarding.

When I first say the title of

When I first say the title of this thread, I thought it would be about the Haven.

In particular, I think it would be neat to have a night theme in Haven rarely.. Since it seems like there are multiple suns around the planet at the current point. Perhaps the strangers have a neat way of lighting up the Haven during it's rare darkness. There could be some neat things to implement, if the art team wants something other then accessories/costumes to work on.

On top of that, raining like in the new mission would be pretty neat on occasion.

Well. What if you could change the settings in Haven for your screen. Say, you could change the time for yourself, enjoying the night sky, whilst your friend enjoys a barbecue in the hot sun.
