So, as we all know, the swiftstrike buckler is a favourite for endgame players because it gives a global ASI high, and can in fact blick T3 attacks on the offchance that you didn't notice a bullet headed your way.
I don't particularly like this, as it somewhat defeats the objective of shields - as in, it doesn't try to protect you much but helps you kill things faster.
So what if....
Rather than shields, you get some 'modules'.
"But whoah! I've heard that name before!"
Yes, we already have a recon and striker module in the game. What I'm suggesting is a little different.
So swiftstrike buckler could be one of these modules. they're effectively stat boosters without the shielding function. it'd be like using your weapon with two hands. Using no shield at all could give an passive ASI med, and swiftstrike gives ASI high - this sounds stupid even to me but whatever.
This is where I basically turn this into 'bomber patch 101' with the suggestion that these modules could just be bomb based. While you're bombing, you're not shield when you're charging a bomb - so that shield is going to waste! While it's still useful to ahve one, it's not nearly as good as it is for gunners and sword users, as they have shields that already buff their gear (ASI doesn't count for bombs >:U)
So, they're effectilvely bomb CTR trinkets that you stick on your arm. It's already sounding overpowered. Maybe only a low bonus at everything but 5*, like most things? :>
I also had this idea about some weapons being two handed - sudaruska (witha huge damage buff), sealed sword lines, brandishes and flourishes - all used with either no shields or with modules. I picked these three as they seem the most powerful of the swords, and the most logical to use with two hands - all the other weapons would probably still be fine to use without a shield. So now I hurl myself into the world of hate and say; WHADDYA THINK!?
