Hi guys. Basil-exclusive recipes are the most hard-to-get recipes and are quite valuable. So to thank Basil, I came up with the idea of Basil Week. During this event, the recipes from Basil are cheaper(25%-50% discount), but the arcade levels are harder and longer. Also, for LD players, all LD-participants will receive a certain number of crowns(I will call it Basil Money for now), and if you survive with any crowns after the match is over, you get to take them as a bonus prize. However, to claim the prize, you have to do at least 5k damage to show that you participated and didn't let your team do all of the work for you. Also, during Basil Week, there is a new type of specialty(Striker, Recon, Guardian) that is only accessible during Basil Week. The new specialty is Basil, and like it says, it turns you into Basil! But, it comes with a price. Basil has MSD Med(Movement Speed Decrease Medium) and can't use any weapons. Instead, basil launches recipes at it's targets, and if you are hit, you will not only lose health, but you will lose some of your Basil Money. If you run out of Basil Money, you will instantly die. To keep it fair, there can only be one Basil on a team at a time. If a Basil dies, he cannot be Basil again until the next Basil dies. And that's my idea :D
Basil Week
In LD, i regularly do less than 5K dmg, because i mostly shock bomb capture points, and help my team.
I think that the event that you are proposing would just be another grind fest. I realize that most events now are, think kat, apocrea, cake, but grinding just to get some cheaper recipes through tougher levels would not be very appealing. Also, the event, i believe would be centered on solo playing, like the kataclysm was this year. If you are just trying to get to basil, i, at least just run through levels, only killing stuff when i have to, and nitronomeing everything. i realize that not everyone can do that, but i feel like the lower prices for the recipes would be offset by the harder levels, and recipie prices in the AH may actually go up, because of the harder difficulty to get them.
That said if this did happen, there would have to be a new arcade gate, just for this event. if not, then players with lower star weapons would not be able to look very easily for recipes.
I'm pretty sure that the point of this event is to lower recipe prices, even for the duration of the event, but i feel like it will backfire.
"During this event, the recipes from Basil are cheaper(25%-50% discount), but the arcade levels are harder and longer."
No, for recipe and/or energy market reasons. Define how "harder" the arcade would be. Longer levels wouldn't matter as all you would need is patience.
"Also, during Basil Week, there is a new type of specialty(Striker, Recon, Guardian) that is only accessible during Basil Week. The new specialty is Basil, and like it says, it turns you into Basil! But, it comes with a price. Basil has MSI Med(Movement Speed Decrease Medium) and can't use any weapons. Instead, basil launches recipes at it's targets, and if you are hit, you will not only lose health, but you will lose some of your Basil Money. If you run out of Basil Money, you will instantly die."
Speciality...? Did you mean classes? This new "Basil" class that you're suggesting here doesn't really sound like a class. You claim that this "Basil" class has MSI med, yet you wrote that Basil has movement speed decrease. Basil launching recipes? How much damage would it deal if their target would lose health? How do you lose Basil money?
What is the point of Basil money? You only suggested "Basil money", but you didn't mention what the players could do with it.
What if.
They made ALL the recipes at basil cheaper forever?
25K > 20K
10K > 8K
4K > 3K
1K > 500 cr
This would make selling recipes more feasible, like it once was.
Or keep Basil the same and bump up the price of HoH vendors. Lots of people stockpile the boss-related recipes that only Basil sells while no one stockpiles HoH recipes because they are bound.
Or just put Basil back to Haven and forget about the entire ordeal.
but the arcade levels are harder and longer.
Not everyone is after Basil, don't make it unfair to people who somehow can't take any more gremlins attacking them then they already have
all LD-participants will receive a certain number of crowns(I will call it Basil Money for now)
So basicly it's a new kind of crown that's only use is to not instantly die from probably easily avoidable hits from Basil.
The new specialty is Basil, and like it says, it turns you into Basil! But, it comes with a price. Basil has MSI Med(Movement Speed Decrease Medium) and can't use any weapons. Instead, basil launches recipes at it's targets
Basil, the only class that is used less then guardian
To keep it fair, there can only be one Basil on a team at a time.
Makes no sense to limit a UP class to one person
