What's the zone?
Ok, there are different ways to explain it, but it really differ from person to another, so I will try to break it into the simplest way I can. The zone is the state where you feel you're completely focused on the activity you are doing (usually a competitive one [sports for instance]) to the extent where you don't feel/think about anything around you but the activity (the game in our case). You do exceptionally well in that state, and you don't even realize that while being in it. There are different things that trigger "The Zone", and it varies from player to another, be it facing a strong challenger or having odds against you etc etc...

Have you ever entered the zone while playing LD?

I'd like to hear your stories 'bout that.

I've been there every once in a while. At best, I've managed to beat Hadn in a 1v1. I once held my ground vs another GLD team without going down for 2-3 minutes, if I remember correctly. But I have a hard time doing my best because it requires me to focus a lot. If I just zone out and stop thinking, I usually play worse than that. As good performance isn't always required, I don't feel like I've improved much the last few months. Admittedly, I don't play much, though.

Sometimes, when I'm all out

Sometimes, when I'm all out damage bombing. If I start off really well I get super pumped. I say to myself: "This is the one. I'm gonna get cray damage. I'll win Feller's moneys."

I focus real hard for the rest of the match.

But the moment of truth... the scoreboard turns around.... 5k dmg. Such is life.

Yes, and it usually comes from having a string of matches where both teams are evenly matched and I'm at the upper level of skill of the players there, especially when it's T2 and I know half the people in the game, and no one is spamming. Basically, when I'm having fun, I get focused and do well.

On the other hand... sometimes this happens.

I get into "the zone" on occasion

Typically this is when I am not dying, or when I walk into a room and clear it.

And for whatever reason whenever I start playing Lockdown my body temperature drops drastically. Whenever my body gets back to a reasonable temperature is when I usually start doing better. Cold fingers are the worst in competitive games. :(

Sometimes I'll start feeling cold once I start steamrolling, but it's more like the feeling of a fever than truly being cold. It happens especially once I start using voice chat.

Glad I'm not the only weird one in that regard, though!

It's truly odd

This doesn't happen to me in any other competitive situation. For whatever reason whenever I first start playing lockdown, regardless of how warm I am to begin with, I start shivering uncontrollably.

I'm getting in the habit of finding a blanket every time I want to do even just a few games of lockdown.
