Why not merge Accessories into your "Costume" tab?

So, I just returned to the game after a LOOOOOONG stint away, so perhaps I'm overlooking some sort of important detail. However, it seems to me that Accessories should maybe be tied to your character, as opposed to a specific item. That way, you can freely customize your character, without worrying about accidentally "losing" a rare item somehow.

Specifically, I have the Tails' Tails item, and I'm contantly worried I'm either going accidentally vendor it or something, or even "waste" it by putting it on an item that I don't intend to wear indefinitely. In fact, I'm extremely inexperienced in terms of the game itself, which contributes to my worry. If I could simply "unlock" the Tails' Tails accessory, though, without worrying about whatever items I replace, that would be fantastic!!!

Wouldn't that be nice. I really wish we didn't have excuses like "OOO makes too much money off of accessories" and "OOO is a small development team" and could just kind of... play the game and talk about it and get new content for the sake of the game instead of money and balance and whatever else there is.

If I understand you correctly, you're wanting a preview window that's isolated from any place that has an exchange of entities like crowns/energy/tickets/accessories (the title made me think you wanted the ARSENAL sections merged, and I was like...what, no, that would be horrible for so many reasons).

I'm developing an idea (a big one, again, yes) that highly involves such a thing - previewing things on any item, in the inspect window as well as the overworld. Cause stuff shows up way different when you walk around vs. in the inspect window - blossom aura, for example. Which means you can walk around and feel pretty, but nobody can see it except you (unless of course you take screenshots, etc.)

Anyway, my idea might be up today, or within the week, check it out then if you want. A similar, rather tangential idea of mine:

The Forge of Finesse UI: Basic Idea . Similar to that image, minus the transmute button. (Node 98166 for more details on that different idea).

Yet another idea of mine: Underskin (inspired by this). It's not a visible armor (or helm) at all, but it has slots. You can equip this costume just like any other, but whatever you're wearing underneath is what you see...which means you could "have" wings on, say, a demo suit, despite the fact that it doesn't have a back slot. Ta da!

-This would mean you could essentially "equip" the accessory on different things multiple times without the action costing anything (like recovery, or buying more than 1 of the same accessory), really. Which would be a potential monetary loss for OOO. But they could easily make the Underskin entity very expensive, rare, etc.

As far as unlocking goes, OOO wants money, so it might not happen. Probably not. Oh well, we love you anyway.

I dunno, seems like it would still wind up being less frustrating, which *has* to be good for the game. Just seems like kind of a win-win for everybody.
