Ever had that time when you bid something in the auction even though you never actually needed. And instead of some guy outbidding you, you end up winning the auction and your money getting wasted?

For me, there should be an option in the Auction House where you can cancel out your bid so that you can get your money back from that auction. But how will it work? When you cancel your bid, your money will be refunded, and the previous bidder will get his money taken from him and be the highest bidder. The item's price would also be the previous bid from the previous bidder. Come on, OOO, you should implement this so that bidders who want their money back can cancel their bids, and the previous bidder who likes the item but have ran out of money from bidding but looses in bidding should get another chance in getting the item the item.

By placing the bid in the first place, you already agreed to pay if in the event you win. There's no real feasible way to mis-click it without going out of your way to do so, given how there's a lovely little delay in between clicking an item, and clicking buy now or bid.

If you really didn't want it, why bid in the first place? Be more responsible and don't be so hasty, silly.

And what if the previous person already used up his or her crowns on, say, a better deal?

going, going, sold

No, if you've ever been to an auction in real life you'll know that the current system is how it works, if you place a bid you are agreeing to pay that amount, no take backs, ever
also, what Sandwich-Potato said

Well then you'd better hope that someone bids higher on that item.

I would like an accurate countdown on how long is left on a bid. As well as previous selling statistics of recently sold items.
Would help me find a good middle price to sell things at instead of estimating.

About the bidding timer.

If the auction house showed the exact time until the bid is up, then players would be waiting until the last seconds until. Then, there would be a rush of bids all at once withing a few seconds. Due to server lag, the bids may not all get processed, or not in the right order, or peoples' money may not get back to them if their bid was lower than a new one. They shouldn't add an exact auction house timer.

What they should do is put on the wiki how much time each vague term means, and maybe change how many time-specifying words there are, instead of three or five phrases we have, and how much time each one represents.

Timing on Bids.

I believe there are lengths of time that correspond to each vague term somewhere on the Wiki.

From what I understand, times are as follows:
Very Long 24+ hours left.
Long 4-24 hours left.
Medium 1-4 hours left.
Short 5 minutes-1 hour left.
Very Short Less than 5 minutes left, with each new bid extending the time limit (extending by how much, I don't know, as it does not say).

While I believe Medium, Short and Very Short are fine as they are, there really ought to be more time specifiers in between Very Long and Long. The space between the two is just far too long.
