There's no reason for it not to be an Elemental bomb instead of a Normal bomb. Bombers have a limited enough selection of reliable damage dealing bombs as it is.

Hopefully a bomber update is announced sometime after the gunner update comes out but I really doubt it.
In terms of the nature of the bombs Gremlin Demos use, that sounds logical.
But due to how nigh-identical it is to how the Blast Bomb works, Normal/Elemental damage may be appropriate.
