1: Does having resistance to fire decrease the amount of damage done per tick?
2: Does having resistance to fire decrease the duration/amount of ticks?
3: Does having weakness to fire increase the amount of damage done per tick?
4: Does having weakness to fire increase the duration/amount of ticks?
5: If I'm using a magma driver, and I have damage increase very high on guns, will that increase the fire damage?
6: If I'm using any weapon that inflicts fire, and I have damage increase very high universally, will that increase the fire damage?

7 - 12: Replace the word "fire" in the above with the word "shock"

Pardon the slightly obvious questions, I just want to get my facts straight.

I would like a concrete

I would like a concrete answer to this too, as a refresher to what info has been posted in the past.

AFKAIK for shock damage to yourself, shock resistance decreases the duration of the shock, but I believe the ticks still do the same amount of damage.

Fire duration and damage are both linked with fire resistance/weakness. It seems that self-fire fromthe Fang of Vog is affected by sword damage bonus as well (however not family bonuses).

Shock duration is changed with shock resistance/weakness. The amount of ticks is random as shock does not tick regularly like fire does. Elemental defence on your armour will reduce shock tick damage. You can shield to completely block shock damage, however it will damage your shield slightly. Shock resistance/weakness also affects how long the shock 'spasm' lasts - with higher shock resistance you are locked in place for a shorter period of time.

Also, if a monster (or player) is afflicted with status, it can still be re-inflicted, and still do the primary tick damage every time they are inflicted. So if a monster or player is inside of the radius of a Voltaic Tempest (Shock haze bomb) They will take damage and spasm every time that shock is inflicted, not the regular ticks that would come from the shock status. I hope that this makes sense.

If only my professors would give me this 100% true/false quiz thing. I think Dutch-Mcloven aced it. But I haven't entirely researched it enough to know more than just "Fire/shock resistance stacks well", meaning that every level is worth having when you can get it there.

It's pretty stupid that even with max+max+high fire resistance (full Fallen set AND Hot Blooded III) you STILL take 4+ seconds of fire and like 8 pips of damage on d28.

Also do enemies deal varying levels (strong, moderate, weak) of status?

Enemies deal strong status

wisps deal moderate status.

Also, max max high you should be taking about 4 pips of fire damage; that's about what i take, because it only ticks twice
