Setting:
Who: Me, Kathrine-Dragon, a vanguard's alt, pure bomber with proto and cold snap, proto helm and vitasuit; Imagine-Unicorns, random dude, hot edge and frost gun, new guy to SK
What: Versus first battlepod
Where: Toy Soldiers, the mission
When: Just now

I, being a veteran bomber with knowledge of attack patterns of battlepods, etc., could not defeat a battlepod in under 10 minutes pure bombing with the help of a newbie swordy/gunner. IU (Imagine-Unicorns) used the em rev and an allspark while I used two health pills. The main problem was that the battlepod was vulnerable for too short a time. When the mecha knight (and that was really annoying) was chasing me, I could plant one bomb within the vulnerable time. Mind you, I'm playing the ignorant knight and not heating any gear so no CTR but I doubt at this level I have enough to get either bomb to lvl 5. When IU managed to fend off the mecha, I could plant a bomb ahead of time and one during the vulnerable period. Two whole frickin charges for every time it was vulnerable. And 15 damage isn't a whole lot. Yes, IU was helping, but he was running around like crazy a lot since he didn't understand the attack pattern.

For some reason, the second battlepod went faster. Maybe he understood it by then. Maybe because it wasn't invulnerable. Either way, please nerf that first battlepod so bombers have enough time to plant a good amount of bombs. Ten minutes is extremely long for a newbie fight. In perspective: Vana takes less than that time when there's coordination. I, as a veteran, should be able to do this in less than ten minutes.

Ummm...

It's not because you're a veteran, it's because you're a bomber.

Sadly bombers get the short end of the stick.

When first starting the game, players are given a sword and a gun and told to get to the rescue camp, never really getting a bombing mindset from the get-go. The first battlepod wouldn't be too bad with swords or guns, honestly. I haven't fought the battlepod in question for some time but still... Swords trump bombs for single targets.

This punishment of new

This punishment of new bombers is a bit annoying (I know I have a bombing account I'm working on), however trying to beat the game with bombs alone is a bit (how can I put this nicely?) stupid.... Even I keep a gun or sword on my bomber at all times.

Become a Skolver clone and join the rage against compounds, or play the bomber and laugh as you decimate monster hordes.

Right. But with the experience it really shouldn't have been this hard. And I did have a swordie/gunner along so that should've technically balanced it out. I agree that bombers are pretty bad off, but it's also true that this guy had a hard time too. Did I mention we did this on normal?

@Katherine

sword, gun and bomb have their advantage in each situation~
sword used to deal massive damage with high risk being near to enemy
gun are made to shot far away enemy and to deal moderate damage with low risk
and bomb used to wipe out large group of enemy or support team mate with status inflict bomb do

about bomb (pardon me if im wrong) is not really made to fight battlepod --a
but i notice it too, some battlepod are just too short which is needed to be fixed

This is sadly just the way bombs are. I would like for them to do something to change it, because it really isn't helping anyone. Bombs need some kind of option (outside dark retribution, which is flat out the greatest thing) to help them deal with these kinds of encounters or something.

The battlepod fight could also use with some shortening. All of the regular fights with them go on too long.
