Give us an arena that goes on forever

I often just want to fight arenas forever and ever. So I think you guys at OOO should hook us up with something like last winterfest crossed with your standard arena-- except with a slower level progression, so that it lasts. Lots of treasures for this.

I realize that this may have been suggested several times before. I've even seen it suggested. I just really don't care.

Seems like a cool idea. However, you should go do a mission. There are Tier 3 missions that end with a nice arena.

Yeah but I'm tired of having to do the levels before them to get to the treasure. I just wanna fight a bunch of enemies without having to do the levels. Like a stack of danger rooms combined with arenas. I just want that bit, and then I want to condense it into a paste and shoot it up like heroin. Thick and juicy.

If you think about it...

There is treasure.
Crowns. Heat. Orbs. Crystals. And so forth.

Besides, think of the loading time.
An infinite arena? Thats gonna take forever to load.
How about we have an arena level where we select how many arenas there should be in the arena?

Naw. The level could be broken up some which way with elevators to control progression, you silly.

Could be a prestige mission then.

"Arena Lockdown"
Danger mission.
It has all of the types of enemies and damages set into different levels:

Normal, Shadow, Piercing, and Elemental.
The rewards INSIDE the level should just be a regular arena, but you dont have the lifts every completion.

I have a lot of ideas on how it could work, but I don't know how plausible to actually develop they are, and I could see them all working to various degrees.

It could either be just a really long mission that starts midway through an odd stratum and goes to the core at a slower rate than normal missions do, or it could be a new krogmo thing, or it could save your progress as you went along (your team's progress would be iffy, but could also be saved), or it could be a new level in the arcade that functions like an arena but has far more waves and far more rewards.

But it should be tough as nails towards the end, and it should present you with a decent reward. That's what's important here.

Tough as nails, huh?

Grinchlin Assault battlepod, anyone?

Honestly this would be a good "endgame" content for the core. A good 2 hours of battle arenas, great rewards, is super tough, and at the end you learn that Alpha Squad is even deeper in the core. We can't return home without knowing the fate of Alpha Squad.

And so the story continues...

To prevent endless farming it should be in the style of grinchlin assault where you only get rewards when you leave. But you can heal, of course.

Btw @Fang this would be a horrible endgame. It's more like an arcade/endless challenge mode, but if this was the final level I'd be extremely dissapointed.

Arena Rush Gate

I was thinking maybe have it like an Arcade gate, except you can only start at the top (or a terminal once it's reached) and the only way to progress would be completing all three arena rooms per depth, like a mission arena. Every fifth depth (5, 15, 25, etc.) would be a regular Arcade arena, meaning you can pass down to the next depth after room one. Every tenth depth (10, 20, 30, etc.) would be a terminal with an added Alchemy Machine.

Each arena depth is randomized, meaning depth one could be Thunder Fist Arena: Robo Rampage, depth 2 could be Venom Fang Arena: Beastly Brawl, and so forth. The depth _5 Arenas will always be an Iron Edge Arena (normal variant), while the other Arenas will all be status variant arenas, a different status per depth between the terminal and the 5!Arena, meaning no two subsequent depth have the same status. There are still chances of the same monster family appearing twice in a row.

Once you reach a terminal, you can continue the Arena Rush at a later time from there. The terminal itself is like the ones in the Arcade, except for two new things. Next to Kozma and Brinks are an Alchemy Machine and a Sprite Food Machine, respectively. This allows you to craft new weapons and armor pieces for you, and food for your Sprite. Brinks doesn't offer boss item recipes, and if you come back later and start from a Terminal, Brinks will not offer anything until the next terminal.

Now I know, you may be thinking that letting them craft each Terminal is bad for the game or something related. Let me tell you this: There is a catch to the Checkpoint Terminals. If you die and/or Return to Haven prematurely, you'll lose your current Checkpoint and be forced to start from either the Terminal prior or, if you died before D20, from the beginning of the Arena Rush.

Endgame, schmendgame.

@Fang this would be a horrible endgame
It's not like our current endgame is too much better, sadly. But also :
good "endgame" content for the core.
I was meaning content for the core. Things can still happen outside the core, but having a lengthy battle inside the core (even if it is not in this manner) would be great.

core terminal

They have an elevator at the (lagalicious) core.
They have room to make a single terminal for mineral deposit.
They can make it open on weekends or for the week that an event lasts.
They very well could make a five round arena each floor.
The floors that are multiple of 5 could be a swarm arena/unknown passage.
The floors multiple of 10 could be made to contain new swarm bosses.

All of this coming to you when half-life 3 releases.

@Klipik

Naw, the whole point of this is endless farming. Maybe it's selfish, but that's basically what I and the handful of people I know seem to want. Like, FSC is good but it takes too long. I just want to have a go at it and get treasure for murdering wave after wave of enemy.

I wish it were a joke thread rofl.

I really just want to sit in an arena forever and kill things. Forever. I've already explored all of the levels and there isn't much more to do than just kill stuff at this point. So why not just cut out the middle man and get rid of all the backtracking and loot collecting and whatnot and just have fighting forever?

Well the thing is that... yknow, there was a way to do infinite arenas if you let an alt knight on the beginning of an arena, you just had to finish the level, leave and then rejoin that character, and the profit was very good for the ammount of time it took to complete.

But OOO changed it so if you leave a party or get kicked the room gets locked until you go down another depth... Clearly the devs do not want people to be able to do that so I would not get my hopes up on that.

The crown inflation would be great if everyone had access to such farming, if I remember correctly the price of energy was about 9k+ around the times where people would do that kind of farm.

^Wait crown inflation? It can give zero crowns for all I care. I'm interested in radiants and in the 2/3* version, crafting orbs. It would be nice if it paid out like.. a bit less than FSC, so that I could still have the luxury of purchasing costumes and recipes and what have you. But the point of this certainly isn't crowns. Optimally, it would give cool costume items and reskins every ten thousandth wave or so. That would make it worth it.

I don't really want this, I want new levels and places to explore... but this would be really nice in between the big content stuffs that happen exactly once every other year, so that I can just fight endless waves of monsters without having to backtrack on levels or deal with pathetically huge numbers of small encounters that make bombing redundant and waste my time.

Oh hey look, a bit of balance.

You know, an endless unknown passage would be even better. You don't get any drops from doing that anyways, and it's so much fun.
Either that or have an extended unknown passage that is 3 times larger than the current one and have 4 red treasure boxes and 6 green treasure boxes at the end of the level. Parties are locked after created. Depth would be ??? and just be the same thing over and over per floor, maybe with some randomized layouts.
