I've been playing a lot of prestige missions since the start of it, and i'm wondering about who's in the top 100 of prestige points, and what my rank is regarding that.

Basically i'd like to see a "top 100" or "prestige ladder" implemented in the game, on which you should always be able to easily find your own name. Visually for instance by highlighting the row you're on, or displaying it in bold, whichever stands out the most. Suppose your rank is 1234, then the list should display your stats on the last row (instead of the player at the 100th position).

Example with me at the 3rd position (i can only do so much here with html markup, but rank numbers and points should be right-aligned):

Rank Player Prestige points
---- ------ ---------------
1 PlayerA 123,450
2 PlayerB 94,880
3 Viperer 92,760
... ... ...
... ... ...
99 PlayerD 34,450
100 PlayerE 33,330

Example with me at position 1234:

Rank Player Prestige points
---- ------ ---------------
1 PlayerA 123,450
2 PlayerB 94,880
3 PlayerC 92,760
... ... ...
... ... ...
99 PlayerD 34,450
1234 Viperer 33,330

Additional quote from post #8:
This makes me think of an additional feature, which also displays the activity of a player: adding a column that shows the prestige gained in let's say the "last 2 weeks", so for an active player that could be "+240". A nice competitive element in my opinion, from which you can tell when you can capture the next position on the ladder.

That would indeed be nice. I want to know if anyone has hit 200k prestige yet.

The prestige leaderboard on the wiki alone has a player with 317k Prestige, and a few 200k+ players.

And these are just players who have opted to be added to the list.

I'd rather prestige be made to unlock something interesting, like special reskinned weapons, at absurd amounts. I'm talking like, 1 at 100K prestige, 1 at 250K prestige, one at 500K prestige, one at 1 mill prestige, you know. Silly high amounts that make us dream. The problem with having it as a contest to see who can get the most of it is that it's attainable by trading in 5* gear, which means that it's basically just pay to win. Like, straight up pay to win. You cannot win if you do not pay, so you must pay to win.

Its hard to look at a board of who gave OOO the most money for OOO to tell me that they're awesome and actually think that they're awesome. Like, it doesn't work that way. They could redo the system, and make it work that way. Make it to where prestige isn't hoardable or buyable, and instead base it off of a number of factors and score your runs and then rank you buy your best ever runs. But IDK about that even.

I would rather have them add more prestige levels, or unlockable reskins like fehzor mentioned then having them just add a highscore table.

yes, things like this are great.
I also would love to know how many times I've fought vanaduke, or how many slag walkers I've killed, and so on. (But then people would get all sad about kill steals...ugh...it's just a silly statistic!).

Rewards...they would be nice? But people who go after prestige are generally people who really just enjoy playing the game, and that is its own reward.

Would still be nice...IMO, I think you should be able to choose one accessory/gear out of all extant (currently released at the time of your ability to choose one) accessories/gear once every 50k prestige, that would be nice. It would be bound of course, so you'd have to attach and then recover it (gear-unbind) if you want to sell it (pretty big economic impact, I think - obviously, this would be a marketing strategy for many players). Limitations should be in place, like no obsolete items, or OCH items, etc. Of course, the raw prestige score would remain (you wouldn't "spend" the prestige points away on this stuff).

This would also give an economic reason to do that otherwise horrendously stupid "Arms Appropriation" thing. Yeah, I would for sure toss my unheated no-UV gear into that if it meant I'd get any accessory I wanted eventually.

It's a bit evil really - get players playing day to day longingly, and throwing crafting resources/time/the objects themselves in a desperate effort to suck up every last prestige they can as fast as possible. Mmmm. Personal strategy: hover at the 49,999 interval mark (wherever that is, 149,999, or 249,999, whatever it is with however the math works out -pretty sure it wouldn't be "999" but you get the idea -, until the next promo is released - then BAM, grab that new accessory and wear it or sell it).

So yeah, that's why I like prestige the way it is - it's largely a mark of how much a person enjoys playing the game, more than anything else. So that's why I don't really support rewards for it, but, I still like the IDEA of a reward...Perhaps even choose your own unique variant...like, a specific ticket for Punch that gives exactly a certain level and type of UV. Shh, one can dream!

Back to the main OP's idea: yes yes, more things to look at - and it would reveal, potentially, that the game is more active than it might seem. Especially if you could see all the prestige scores that are above 10k (so those silly inactives/inactive alts are not in the tier).

One issue with this - how would player activity factor in? Cause I have plenty of friends with sky-high prestige that have not played in over half a year. Though I suppose this doesn't really matter.

@Dibsville, yeah that's just

@Dibsville, yeah that's just a player "maintained" list. It's an impossible mission to manually keep it up-to-date.

@Fehzor, your idea is totally different than mine, pls create a separate thread for it if you'd like to pursue that thought. Though it sounds like the downside that you're mentioning (trading in 5* gear) applies to your own idea aswell. And prestige isn't buyable, you'll have to play the game. By the way, it's not only expensive to trade in 5* gear, it's also very time consuming. Both are reasons for me to not trade in gear, but just play the daily prestige missions. It's as simple as that for me, it would be nice to see my own ranking and how far away the players around my ranking are. Seeing your own ranking close to that of others, might make you come back to the game the next day, to gather more prestige.

@Atomicblaster, there are also highscore lists for LD and BN, so why not for this? ;)

@Dracora-Speaking, i don't think player inactivity will be a problem; they will eventually be gone from the top 100 list (i'm aware that this might take some time, but as you stated - it doesn't really matter). This makes me think of an additional feature, which also displays the activity of a player: adding a column that shows the prestige gained in let's say the "last 2 weeks", so for an active player that could be "+240". A nice competitive element in my opinion, from which you can tell when you can capture the next position on the ladder.

I feel like it would be

I feel like it would be pointless, if its all time prestige it will just be 10 or so mega rich players with 400-500k prestige at the top, and you could never catch up. If they make it weekly or monthly its a finite score, only so much is attainable, so it would just be the same number of prestige over and over. Prestige is kinda bugged anyways, there were ways to get infinite prestige when it came out, and there has been times when you got prestige when you shouldn't have.

Wouldn't a top 100 list being

Wouldn't a top 100 list being available in-game kind of be an easy access list of "rich" players for people to constantly be sending messages begging for crowns?

I'll definitely say that the beggars increased once I finally got my 45k badge. It just screams "money" to apprentices.

@Atomicblaster, i definitely

@Atomicblaster, i definitely would like to see an all time prestige list. To be honest, i'm not even sure if it's possible to have over 400k already. I have to see the first one yet with that score; highest i've ever seen is about 330k, which was this week. And as i said before, being rich doesn't get you the prestige points. Of course it helps (buying fire crystals for instance, to craft that 5* gear you have to deliver), but moreover wanting to gain prestige encourages playing the game. I don't know about the bugs you're referring to though.

@Addy, not in my opinion. First, playing the prestige missions doesn't get you rich; it pays about 5-6kcr per day... In the same time, you could've done firestorm citadel, which has a higher payout. Second, i myself am almost never bothered by beggars (maybe once in 1-2 weeks tops).

"And prestige isn't buyable, you'll have to play the game."

Guide to purchasing prestige:

Step One: Purchase energy via the supply depot or whatever other outlet you would want to.
Step Two: Trade purchased energy for whichever item you need to complete the daily mission; i.e. a supply pack, or a piece of 5* gear.
Step Three: Give your newly traded for items to the prestige mission, and receive prestige.

You think RubyEclipse, the first knight to get the 45,000 prestige badge did it purely through being skilled at the game? NOPE.

Arms Appropriation is perfectly doable without being a paying player nowadays. 2*/3* orbs aren't that much, 5* orbs are in abundance if you do a lot of T3, it's mostly grinding for the 4* and heating the weapons that takes time.

That said, it doesn't give as much as you'd think. It'll still take 3 months to catch up with a player that's 4k ahead in prestige. But, it's currently the only way to do so, besides the occasional bug (assuming both players do all other missions every day)

Yes, would be interesting to see how many players actually care about a number that currently does nothing. Arms Appropriation is a valid criticism of the system but I guess throwing 3.2k CE daily for 300 prestige shows certain kind of dedication (a bit silly one imo).
