I enjoy a great storyline like any other gamer and many of you knights that have been keeping up with changes to the game have noticed the brewing of a mysterious storyline built into the game about the Gremlins and the Crimson Order. And those of you who have been playing attention to the scenario rooms have probably found out that there are 9 who serve in the Crimson Order. Perhaps the people who work to make this game's story already have something built out and are feeding it to us in a suspenseful fashion, but just in case they don't I'd be glad to share my ideas for a new expansion on the Crimson Order.

Gremlin of Necromancy: Gearlich

With the Recon Rangers closely following the activities of Gremlins due to the previous encounter with Seerus, they discover Gremlins moving in and out of mysterious caverns that are know to be inhabited by many undead creatures. A team of 6 recon rangers is sent in, but only one is found with vague and horrific stories of what happened down in the caverns. This could be depicted with you running into a shaken-up knight whose dialogue hints at what you might encounter ahead later in the expansion. He mentions a place called Warlock's Den which you later fin out is a secret Gremlin facility used to do highly experimental tests on various undeads that are found in the clockworks. The Gremlin's research is focused on ways the undead can be used to their advantage. It is mentioned somewhere in a scenario room that Warmaster Seerus obtained valuable research from Warlock's Den on extracting shadow energy from undeads, leading Seerus to make Dark Retribution. Throughout your breaching of the facility and exploration of the caverns, you run into all 5 missing recon rangers either as captives or Gremlin experiments. You find that the Gremlins are working on perfecting necromancy and integrating dark magic with science, a dangerous game. Once in the facility you attempt to gather data from the labs but every time you get close an encounter with Gearlich happens and he manages to escape using secrets in the layout of the facility. Finally you corner him in a quarantined zone where all of the very dangerous test subjects are kept. Realizes he is cornered, he unleashes a highly intelligent and powerful test subject, Cortex, after feeding the research to it in hopes that the knight's never get it. Gearlich manages to run deep into the caverns leaving you to fight Cortex. You kill Cortex and take the research that he ate. In the aftermath it is said that Gearlich's whereabouts are unknown after he left Warlock's Den as it was to risky to follow him that deep.

New Enemies

Necro Puppies - Gun Puppy reinforced with bone and dark powers. Behaves as an Howlitzer but instead becomes a Gun Puppy when killed.
Dread Warlocks - Gremlins menders that summon Frankenzoms and fire slow moving bullets with their sidearms dealing elemental damage. Takes health capsules when low on health.
Mecha-Phantoms - Characterized as undead. Behaves like a phantom but can be killed permanently and is equipped with a cannon for long-range attacks. Looks like a regular phantom but the iron colored and moving gears on it's back.
Eyeris - Undead chormalisk like creatures that fire beams out of their single eyeball. Similar to seraphynx
Possessed Recon Ranger - Neutral to all attacks and hits with shadow damage. Fights with an Acheron like weapon
Cyborg Recon Ranger - Neutral to all attacks and hits with elemental damage. Fights with a Winmillion like weapon
Gearlich - Gremlin that attacks at high speeds with his staff and throws in to create a regular Phantom. Escapes when defeated, doesn't die
Cortex - Attack the glowing part of his brain-like body to damage. The glowing part changes for each stage. Stage one: crawls around and attacks like a turret. Summons 2 Eyerises and 2 Frankenzoms. Stage two: moves faster, adds a beam attack to his actions. Summons 3 Eyerises and 1 Mecha-Phantom. Stage three: adds one large bullet rotating around his body and shoots 2 beams at a time. Summons 2 Necro Puppies, 3 Eyerises and 2 Mecha-Phantom.

Seen Enemies (would be cool to display in lab cells but to complicated to put in the game)

Lumbernaught - hybrid between a Juggernaught and a Lumber
Giant Scarab - extremely large version of a Scarab
2 Headed Frankenzom - Frankenzom with a smaller head protruding on it's shoulder

Reward Weapons

Necromancer Battle Staff (5 star), Charged Battle Staff (3 star), Common Battle Staff (1 star) - Quick attacks like a Striker with a green colored phantom slashing as a ghost strike. Similar stats to Wild Hunting Blade but with shadow attack. Charge is a slash with a phantom coming out, weapon already charged, and homing in on the closest enemy to attack.
Bone Dagger (5 star), Bone Dirk (3 star), Bone Point (1 star) - 2 shot per clip gun similar to the alchemer lines but shoots as fast as a blaster. Inflicts pierce damage similar damage to Valiance. Bullets are able to pierce up to 2 enemies before disappearing. Range of 10 tiles. Charge attack fires a larger bone shard that can hit enemies 2 when piercing through.
Built in Necrotic Alchemy Machine: Intact Shroud of Gearlich (5 star), Damaged Shroud of Gearlich (3 star) Torn Shroud of Gearlich (1 star) - Shadow/Normal Defense. Poison/Freeze resistance, Shock/Fire weakness. Bomb Damage: high

(I know it seems like some things may be copied from OCH such as the helm made in an alchemy machine and the weapon of the Gremlin as a reward but it think it would be good to make it appear as if Seerus and Gearlich are elemental and shadow counterparts, and also keep a reoccurring theme going since they are from the same storyline. Seerus works with the Elemental war machines and Gearlich works in secrecy on dark magic experiments)

I understand that making an idea for an enemy or a weapon that actually fits into Spiral Knights is not that simple, and I will get heavily criticized, but it is just an outline for a story that hopefully will get considered. Feel free to say what would needed to be changed or why somethings wouldn't work. My hope is that some of my idea will be considered as a viable part to the story.
