So as the title says, mechas. Ok, so this might seem a bit stupid but this will kinda be similar to the tf2 engineer. but only kinda.
It's a weapon that takes up all your weapon slots, (doesnt matter if u have 2 or 4, still takes all) and makes it so you can make a turrets (you get 2 turrets if you have 2 slots and 3 if you have 3 and so on).
There are 2 main types of turrets, continuous and lazer.
Lazer does high damage but has a cooldown, continuous sends a stream of low power bullets.
They will have all 4 damage types.
These can be destroyed by monsters (30 hp at T1, 50 T2, 75 T3) and you can destroy them.
They have a 10 sec build time.

Honestly a drop down turret would be fun and wouldn't upset the balance of the game by so much. It would help you out considerably, until you needed to kill a mender or something else like that. Most weapons also help you out considerably, until you need to kill a mender or something else like that. So the difficulty in the game wouldn't really be effected by this.
If OOO does a bomber update, I would love for them to do something like this for it.

No link, just that OOO should probably not take this suggestion verbatim, as it would take a ton of testing etc. to get it right. But that at its heart, the suggestion isn't bad.
I guess really the biggest concern would be that the player could easily cheese with this. So perhaps the player would have to be nearby the turret, or it would dissipate? I do not know!

It's a possibility
I could actually see this happening in the game but it seems the developers want things to stay in the balanced category of Shield, Sword, Gun, and Bomb because those categories cover all the bases. So far I haven't seen any idea for a new "type" of weapon that couldn't just have been a creative form of a Shield, Sword, Gun, or Bomb. I could see in fitting in the game if it was like a gun that shoots an orb that fires bullets as a charge attack or a bomb that just sits there firing bullets for a while instead of exploding. The whole idea of having a turret weapon that takes up all the slots is just too extreme and unnecessary. Of course if a new weapon like the bomb or gun described were to come out it's access would have to be limited via prize box, tokens, or rare drop.

2: Don't confuse a mecha, a robotic mobile suit or unit, with a turret, which is a weapon in every senses of the word.
