Dual Wielding
it's the problem of the "don't suggest this" threads: only guys that read that thread will know, and since 99% of guys that come here with dual wield suggestion are newbs that don't read other topics, it's a failure.
and Nick already said that the only way in which dual wielding could be implemented is making a whole new line of weapons, and even then balance would be a mess.

newbs that don't read other topics
You forgot to add that 90% of guys that go to newbie-ish dual wielding threads will only flame on the suggestion xD
I don't really want to see a big deal made about dual wielding. It would basically just be superficial like Nick told us, and that would be kind of a bummer. They could make a dual wielding promo or something, perhaps.
But we just got it.
A Torto claw on each hand is probably the closest that we'll ever get.
I think that it's hilarious how you all say that Nick said this and that, I've seen the comments he's made, and I'm sure as a game designer he's open to ideas that work.
There have been a TON of ideas that are feasible. However without input from any devs, there's no way to further ideas. At this point, all that we really need is "this is an interesting idea, but this doesn't work" or even a list of "This is what we will just NOT do- no acceptions". Then we can develop an actual weapon set of dual swords, because really a few of the swords in game could work as duals. As well as guns or bombs. The only issue is that there isn't serious demand for it. Long time players come on to EVERY dual wield thread complaining how much this is brought up, and how noob it is to suggest it without a shield because they "didn't search".
They come off to me as if most of them are not really wanting to able to dual wield at all, but merely willing to tolerate such suggests that are either "interesting" or actually serious, and moderately viable. I've rarely seen dual wield threads be suggested and followed through by veteran community members- even when it's extremely well thought out.
That being said, I think that there ought to be a thread people stick to on the subject (not just the "noob" players suggesting it, but the vets who don't seem to care that much about it, but know which ideas are realistic), that way we don't restart discussions over and over.
Plus most of Nick's comments were "as of right now, here's what we think" kind of things if I remember correctly, but were left open to suggestions in cases someone found the perfect niche creation.

Honestly why don't they make a sticky addressing dual-wielding (current views not old ones), and either picking a few threads they though were interesting, or just sayin "Not gonna happen".
