Hey there!
Most of you don't know me, but I would like to give out a suggestion. I would like to see (and most other people would, too!) an (or The)Uncrafting Console.

The Uncrafting console would be a little PC or console (always) next to an Alchemy Machine. Hence the name, these Uncrafting machines would un-craft any CRAFTED item, while means any purchased weapon cannot be un-crafted. This ALSO leads to the fact that any crafted item would need a "brand" (like the blue diamond on a bound item, except this one would be red ) on the item showing that it has been crafted. When uncrafting, players should get EVERY thing they used to make it, NOT just 1 or 2 orbs, ALL of them.
[EDIT] This is my first forum post.

Meep.

There are a few flaws with this...

'any CRAFTED item'

Many items in this game have been crafted, whether by other people and then traded or simply crafted by themselves. It would be a nuisance to many people to find out whether the item was un-craftable. It could also lead to people exploiting the unique variant system. Being able to craft and uncraft so you could get your desired unique variant will cause the economy to crash and the game to be quite easy to players. Everyone would have very good gear without paying a lot if this uncrafting system was implemented.

Instead of getting everything, how about just the radiants that went into heating it?

Or maybe just the Crowns. Like Mengh said, getting everything back would just ruin the system we have already. We don't need to fix something that's not broken, especially if said something is part of what the game revolves around.

Why would you want to ever uncraft your gear, excluding the possibility that you no longer wish to use it and are feeling particularly regretful? We already have an "uncrafting system" for that case, its called every merchant and the uncrafting reward is 30,000 crowns.

Move over, there's bubble-wrap to be popped!

@Fehzor I'm guessing you can uncraft bound items?

@Sir-Crazee-Pi

In the manner of which Fehzor is speaking, yes you can.

You still can sell bound items to a merchant, and it'll still pay you more than if you uncrafted said items.

Eah...

You have a good idea but want too much back.

The uncrafting ability would have to make the item crafted down be valuable. You would get: 2/3 of the orbs you used back, 3/5 of the crowns you used back, no materials would be returned, and we would get as many fire crystals as the lowest chance possible back for the current level was used back (I.E., 34 radiants back from a level 10 5* item)

If you got all your items back, you could just continuously craft your item, trying to get a good UV on it. Making you lose money is part of the service charge, much like the materials and orbs are like currently, while preventing a feature in the game from being abused.

@Sonosukes Oh yeah, I thought Fehzor meant unbinding the item and selling them to players :P

Well I meant all of it, really. Like, we can already sell gear, unbind gear... what does this possibly solve that those don't? The existing outs for these things are mysteriously pricey, but that was almost certainly by design.

Well...

I thought of it because COUNTLESS amounts of times, I've crafted an item I find out I honestly just don't need, and really want ATLEAST my ORBS back.

For example: those torto guns; they're pretty worthless, and a LOT of people would like there orbs back!

"I thought of it because COUNTLESS amounts of times, I've crafted an item I find out I honestly just don't need, and really want ATLEAST my ORBS back."

If you've been crafting unnecessary gear, then it's a problem on your side to think you can leisurely craft whatever you want even as to "try" it out.

"For example: those torto guns; they're pretty worthless, and a LOT of people would like there orbs back!"

I don't see people complaining yet. This is an unsubstantiated assertion.

-----------

Overall I could only think of one use for me, and that is to uncraft for event gear. E.g. Sentenza (5*) -> Blackhawk (4*) -> Obsidian Carbine (5*)

Even so, I would think giving back everything is an unfair attribute to this system. The most is to give back all the materials, and the pre-crafted weapon, but not the orbs nor the crowns used.

I agree with Zaffy-Laffy

We should just have a system where you downgrade your gear and get nothing, just a easy way to change alchemy lines. ex: i have a grey feather cowl which i downgrade, get nothing but a lvl 1 miracle hood, and use that miracle hood to craft a chaos cowl.

what about

uncrafting an item back a star would be a nice feature but so would cross crafting :)

example: Vog Cub Cap to Vog Cub Coat
example: Snarbolax Coat to Vog Cub Coat

long as the item is in the same family of armor it should be allowed
