Recently, I've been having an issue where my game will freeze for about 5-10 seconds. The audio will stop, and after a little while the game will start running properly again (However I usually find myself dead on the floor.) This happens somewhat frequently, and I'd very much appreciate some help.

I'm using Windows 7 on a laptop, my processor is an Intel core i7-2630QM. I made sure I had all the most recent drivers, and I do.

I have practically no performance issues other than this freezing, even with high settings and anti-aliasing on. Any suggestions?

Internet Connection

Do you have a secure internet, by that I mean like you're Internet connection is ok? I think its the internet because the desktop I used to play on was pretty laggy but Spiral Knights was good for me lag wise, now I use a laptop that doesn't even open up Spiral Knights

I find that I have these problems when my OS is allocating large chunks of memory to a program during runtime (or another program takes up 100% processing/graphic power momentarily).

The interesting part is my audio stops as well. The strange part is that I have the game sounds muted and vlc (a media player) playing my own music instead - and that stops.

I have mitigated this problem by double checking and limiting the background processes that are running in the background concurrently with this game.

That being said, how frequent is "frequently"? I get it 2-4 times an hour running tons of stuff and maybe once an hour with my solution above.
