Has anyone actually attempted to buy the 1% item from a prize box?

From Three Rings, I mean. Not from another player. You logged in, you maxed out your spending limit on prize boxes, you unboxed all of it in hopes of finding the 1% item-- a prismatic chapeau of the divine field aura, or a writhing bloom halo wing. Something like that.

Or maybe it was in the back of your head, but you knew you'd be unboxing for the item. Like if you thought the serene sarong of rage was nifty, and an encouragement, but that you were unboxing a hundred boxes for that 1%.

.....and how did it go? If you did?

I play that before opening any prize box.

I've seen a few people do that this time. They offloaded a lot of the citrine/amethyst tabards and chaps at once.

3 people come to mind.

2 of them blow the huge load of cash while having a unboxing look at me party going on. The third usually does a combination of both buying from OOO and other players when things go sour.

As for myself, I limit it to $20. If I don't get the 1% it'll probably end up in a flash sale anyways. I've gotten close to the 1% items but the best I got was in the 3-15% range.

If I could convince OOO or

If I could convince OOO or Sega they were losing money because of rare content that nobody with real money has immediate access to, I'd let them know in a heartbeat. Wouldn't they be gaining more money if they released boxes alongside having the actual, singular items with a higher price in Supply Depot? That way you can still by what you want, but if you want to test your luck, you can buy boxes much cheaper.

Coincidentally though, playing devil's advocate, this "super rare 1% gambler's elite items" allow for OOO to charge you premium TWICE, because it was so rare the first time, they can sell it in supply depot a year later. Consider the re-emergence of Hunter and Surge box's leafy and hacked auras on Supply Depot Sales. It's a devious double snare, and a tactic unlikely to change; it's a case where giving people what they want/need is actually losing money.

Hence why I think it's obvious or clear the gunner update and any other permanent content is being delayed until further notice.
If it's rare, then people will want it more.

And if I'm wrong, somebody better come slap me with a banstick.

I don't even try. All I bought was one box. It just happened. I was expecting another costume piece I already had.

Even if I had money to spend on this game, and had the desire to pay for F2P games, I wouldn't go for a 1% chance unboxing. Why? Because there's such a low chance of me finding the thing I want anyway, it'd probably be cheaper to buy it off someone else anyway. After all, even if someone sells something for 2 million crowns on the AH, that's less than the cost of a hundred prize boxes. (Not that I could afford it anyway :p)

"Greetings, I'm sorry to hear

"Greetings,

I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with what you received from the
promotion boxes. The probability to get a certain item is always the same, for
each box you open, or put differently, with each box you open, you have one
chance to get the item you desire. The chance to get one specific item doesn't
change with the number of boxes you buy.
Some items are rarer than others, as we line out in the rules for each
promotion. And for every kind of lottery you'll need some luck as well. Some
players buy numerous boxes and never unwrap one of the rare prizes, while
others get lucky and receive the 1% item on their first try.
However, we try to be as transparent as possible with the chances you have to
win a particular item, so you know up front and can decide if you'd like to
take a chance at buying boxes or not.

I'm afraid we can't offer any kind of deal as you suggest, as that wouldn't be
fair towards other players to name just one reason. If you are unhappy with
the items you received from boxes and don't want to keep them, you can at
least still try to sell them at the auction house and raise funds this way to
maybe buy the item you desire from another player.

Best wishes,

- Thalia"

I spent about 75$ on boxes cos i wanted a gun puppy.

Can you guess i came out slightly disappointed? (And about 60% richer).

Don't ask me why.
But i did.
Never again.

Although, i do have enough money to maybe buy a gun puppy. But i dunno.
