The guilds have guild halls, but what about the soloists who don't join guilds, every knight should have personal hideout, like extending the ready room, to where you could walk around the ready room, decorate it with small things, and just plan out what to do next, but it will still be pretty small and it won't go into default, unlike guild halls, they would be personal to you,but you would be able to invite a small group of people, max amount would be from 4 to 6(maybe a bit much). The decorations would cost the same amount of money, button would be able to look out a window and change the scenery instead of have weather. It would be maybe the same size as the elevator room before missions, probably smaller but it would act as a kind of apartment (kind of obvious but I had to say it). It's entrance in haven would be in garrison to the right of the hall of heroes. From the so called ready rooms computer u could get a auction house function instead of having to go to the auction house, for the players who get insane lagg from the giant groups over at the auction house. The computer would also be like the central generator in the guild hall choosing to decorate and buy decorations. And you would also be able to change the theme and the floor like in rooms in the guild hall. It would still be pretty small though.
Personal hideouts instead of a guildhall
This is the ready room, unfortunately you can't run around at all. I would like there to be hideout locations like in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire where a player finds a location in the clockworks and sets up a base there.
I like the idea of a private little place that nobody can get to. Maybe some weapon or armor racks, something like that.
That is a bit like the mission lobby. As much as I would like to have some personal place for your knight, I'd prefer the current ready room because of the "instant-loading" time when you login to one of your knights. Having a feature like this would mean longer loading.
I like this idea, but I'm gonna have to agree with Sky on this one. Maybe have the mission lobby, but without Basil, the Arsenal, and the Lift. That way there's little to no loading.
What @Klipik said. Personally I find the idea of personal hideouts a bit..anti-social? You can literally just (as Klipik said) create a guild and invite 4-6 people.
I really like the idea, I don't know why but it just sounds really cool. To add on to Holy-Nightmare's idea, wouldn't it be cool to have hideouts/guild halls/a guild outpost within the clock works. It would be really expensive for your guild, but maybe they could have a few health pills or something there. I just think it would be really cool if while you were traveling around the clock works you could go to your guild outpost and heal and stuff. No elevator to get their, just a door or gate.
@Damian-Killard
Well, whilst the idea itself is quite interesting, it complicates some matters. One of them being that this could very well turn Spiral Knights into a "Pay to win game". I can almost picture it:
"Buy energy! Get a free guild hideout in the process*! Visit them and heal whilst in the clockworks!"
*If you manage to find them in the prize boxes
I don't think it would work out very well :/ Also, it sort of ruins the point of some of the achievements in the game (namely the ones that require you to travel from Depth 0-Depth X).
The "guild heal locations" would be a random guild, not necessarily yours. A guild could create a "clockworks room" that would be treated as a scenario room, and they could choose the theme of the room(e.g. freeze, poison, statusless... And this room would only occur on a floor of the correct theme. Heck, you could have scenario rooms for devilish drudgeries if you wanted, but they may cost more because fiend level. Maybe choose the depth too, and later depths cost more?), and decorate it. This would cost a fair amount of crowns when upkeep comes around, but it's like a little bit of advertisements for your guild for players running the clockworks.
Bonus points to being able to be inside that room and interact with players who are roaming the clockworks. You would essentially load into the level before they do, but be unable to exit the room. This part may be a bit overkill, but it would be fun. :P
sry I thought this would be great too but it would ruin the social feeling of sk. and how often would you go in there? once a week? what can you DO there that you cant do somewhere else?? No..here I must disagree with the idea
When I go bombing I often get frustrated with the typical player (knocking things out of my bomb's range even when it has much more DPS, and not recognizing what to do when I catch enemies with a vortex) and I prefer to play alone.
A personal hideout would give guildless players a reason to buy furniture and a place to use it without losing it to a guild.
Just make a small guild and don't buy any wings.
