Ok, so I have two suggestions, and feel free to critique and build on what I'm saying.

Their are still two minerals that are not used, and I have two suggestions about new sprites. We already have and offensive sprite, and defensive/healing sprite, and a stealth sprite, so how about a pure defensive sprite. It would have no healing capabilities but maybe it could do things like bolster your shield for a short period of time. Another ability could be similar to the drakon's barrier but with 4 circling spheres and less offensive power and slight knock back and more defensive power. I have absolutely no idea what it would like but it would use moonstone to craft pet food. The second sprite I was thinking of could be a crown/treasure box/materiel spite, that could have abilities such as making monsters drop more valuable coins, slightly increasing the chances or things like sparks of life and orbs being dropped from boxes, and increasing the rate of more valuable materiel drops. This one could look like the original sprite that Biotech Morlin has, and would eat pet food crafted from Valestone. Or since it's robotic be powered by Valestone that needs to be larger as it upgrades. The defensive sprite may further force knights to choose classes, (This sprite making people be a tank, the same as Drakon is mainly for strikers and DPS knights, and Seraphynx is for support knights.) which many people disliked about the sprite update, and the reason so many people like spiral knights, the classless, go-your-own-way feel lacking in many games. To combat this maybe make sprites cheaper, but then the more you buy the more they cost. People are annoyed Knights are forced into classes by having to choose a sprite early in the game when they don't have enough knowledge, but this way they can buy a second one withough breaking the bank if they really feel they made a mistake. Maybe the second sprite you get is only 800 ce (half of what they cost now) with it going up 300 ce for every spite after.

My second suggestion is to make Moorcraft Manor and Emberlight somewhat more like Haven. Obviously not with all the emenities that Haven has, but with an auction house and a few more things. I heard that Emberlight and Moorcraft Manor used to be like this, but they changed it since all the advanced players never went Haven and it was only newbies there. I don't know if this is true but to make sure this doesn't happen, make it so the only way to get into the Moorcraft Manor and Emberlight that have other players outside of your party and an auction house you have to start, say 10 depths above. If you just start at Moorcraft Manor or Emberlight the auction house is locked, and it is just your party, the same as it is now. Maybe you could make clockwork terminals like this but withought the auction house... I don't know about that one but you get the idea.

Thanks for listening and add one with your own ideas.

gods ain't gonna help you, son.

The problem with a pure defensive sprite is that defense isn't as nearly as important as offense in the game. the sprite would be overlooked.
a more loot sprite could mess up with the economy. you see, ce prices are very delicate. we have seen that some changes to the game and just some promos have make the prices spike up to 10k. material drops should be ok, just not crowns.
less ce for sprites on early purchases should be good, actually. they just need to make a vendor in the lab and make these pods not sellable.
the only reason you would want AH at subtowns is to check an auction you are following, and with your system it isn't feasible. you need to traverse the clockworks till the end of the tier, and nobody does that just to check the AH in another location. subtowns are good as they are.

I don't really think that a defensive sprite would be overlooked, since most of the popular gear is offensive, such as the Chaos set, the Brandish line, and snarby shield (I forgot it's name). A defensive sprite could balance out your knight. The Drakon isn't great, and it can mess up your attacks if you have to take time to press the hot keys. A defensive sprite's ability could be something you use to complement the attacks you use, instead of a seperate option. Maybe something that buffs your shield all around, including shield bumping knock back. I agree with you about the crown sprite, but maybe it could just be orb and materiel drops, or even sparks of life. The increase in drop rates wouldn't be drastic, but enough to make some sort of difference. It would also give Knights who don't really like using sprites in combat something they can use without totally being at a disadvantage compared to other sprite-wielding Knights.

The subtowns having the auction house and other players that aren't in your party could be something you get for, say, starting 5 depths above the subtown instead of ten. It the AH is just an added bonus the main thing that this offers is being able to add non-friends to your party while staying in the clockworks instead of going back to Haven. This allows to to keep however many party members you want even if someone has to leave.

Eh..

Don't separate players from Haven. The main reason this was removed was because of players never getting to know each other in a social MMO. You are in Haven to socialize and do a few chores, and in the clockworks to play the game and earn crowns.

For the sprites, a defensive one would be interesting. All sprites have to deal some sort of damage with their first attack, but a defensive sprite could do a few things different. Like, first ability would be a SoL-like pushback with increased damage and status for higher levels, second ability would be to cure all current statuses and give universal status resistance for about 8 seconds, third ability would be something like making all enemies that damage you also get damaged the same way for around 6 seconds after activation.
A sprite that increases drops is not a good idea for the economy. Plus, if you had that sprite, just about every other sprite would become useless. They are called "Battle Sprites" because they aid you in battle, not because they give you extra money.
Making sprites cost less overall is a good idea, but also sort of iffy. You could make it work on a more "rank" system, but then squires who have been around since the beginning and have 5* gear could buy and sell pods at a direct profit. If you got a "discount coupon" for battle sprites once you hit vanguard, that would encourage players to actually reach the end of the game and try out another sprite if they don't find their own to suite their playstyle.

I do not think the two subtowns should be more like Haven, they should be their own thing.
Should make it so that the different subtowns are specially catered to that tier.

  • Party Finder is set to the current tier (Haven works as per usual)
  • Add NPCs with dialogue about the following Tier. (ie. T2:stories of the Royal Jelly, frostifur wolvers, suspicious gremlin activity/plan, "I used to be an adventurer like you...")
  • Distinguish the architechture and floorplan of the two subtowns(they're unpolished)

Have a channel/instance per language for each subtown, and I would think the the party finder change would draw players.
