Mission Ideas and Whatnot

After having played the game for quite some time, I felt there needs to be more missions between Snarbolax and the Roarmulus twins. The difficulty ramps up around the Jelly King, and things get more arduous from there. Granted, at that point in the story things are getting more serious, but I dunno how many more times I can play Tohou with a dozen Gunpuppies! So these ideas are a mixture of more content along with giving the players more chances to do some new-ish levels to have fun grinding on.

- Mission with a Guardian Knight assistant. It would be cool to go through a set of levels with one of those bigger Sentinels you see helping you out, he could be there to soak up the damage while you take out the waves of enemies. As for the mission itself, a standard retrieval/delivery format could do, But maybe make it involve a miniboss or something.

- A stage taking place on the surface. Yeah, diving deep into Cradle is fun and all, but we only get to see the top land at the beginning and as the hub. Perhaps a trip to one of those.... Axis. They are there, so it would be interesting to see what they look like from on the planet's suface! It also looks like the planet has many biomes. (tons of opportunities there!)

- The Moon. Might be pretty hard to pull off, but it's another point of interest that can be used if need be.

- Gremlin Companion Mission(s). Oooooh yeah, now this is something alot of people would enjoy. A mission, or better yet, series of missions; Where you are teamed up with a Gremlin CPU. An idea for why is easy enough, the Gremlin is a deserter and wants protection, or perhaps they are looking for a family member/friend/lover that got lost in the Clockworks. Honestly, it's not hard to believe any motivations they may have for teaming up with your character. It's just something I'd REAAAALLY want to see happen.

- A 'Choose your own path' Mission. Perhaps for this, You're given multiple elevators to pick from and get to pick your route. Maybe it's a treasure hunt that leads to different loot depending on the end destination. It could even be just another category of repeatable missions for prestige.

- Deadly Outbreak Event. Haven has been stricken with an illness native to Cradle, and the only chance the Spiral Order has is your knight delving into a unique part of the Clockworks where a special herb can be found to cure everyone! (it seems par for the course for a story about explorers visiting an alien world.)

Well, that's all I've thought up while in my spare time; we could toss in the possible new pet missions that have yet to show up, but those are already in the works.... Right?

I have questions:

  1. wouldn't the choose you own path suggestion be another "hey, let's all go here because it pays a whole lot more" type deal? then again, I guess endgameis like that.
  2. Would the guardian knight suggestion be half the enemies aggoed on the guardian knight half on you? It'll a bit too easy if they are on GK all the time.

1. Well, It'd be more like, 'Ahh, which prizes do I want/need this go?'

2. Well, I can't say for sure how the ai works in this game, but we must consider that the Guardians are pretty big, and can only get hurt from the back, so most enemies attack would get bodyblocked by him. Though, to not make it so easy, you don't know where he's going to move and whe, so you can't really use him as a reliable wall 100% of the mission.
