The ability to walk.

Greetings to you all!

I am a big fan of doing role-play in spiral knights and I love using the emotes, I was wondering if there could be an emote that allows you the ability to walk, as much as the running in spiral knights is fun, the ability to walk would make much more sense, especially when moving around in the haven, to save people from complaining it to be to slow you can have it as a toggle, a key far from the movement and attack keys, plus running makes you look like you in a hurry all the time, I know it's not a practical thing but it's just one of those things that enhance gameplay and animation aspects.

I haven't seen a thread like this in a long time

I agree with the idea
but how would you stop walking? if you need to type it you would get killed in the clockworks
maybe just using the attack or shield button (still you need specifics)

I'm just going to put this here.

For a walking bit, I think a toggle would be nice. I've wanted to just be able to walk forever. Only complication would be if there wasn't an animation for walking backwards.

Typically, when your character is Stunned, they switch from their running animation, to a walking animation, albeit played a bit faster. There is a walking animation for each direction as there is with running. So there is no issue.

That being said... A toggle-able emote to walk would be alright, but not completely necessary.

the stun walk animation is a bit more of a waddle, to slow, but the npcs walking around haven have a reasonable walk speed on them

sidenote: do not put a sprint animation option (faster run) msi doesn't do much as it is and getting it free is a horrible idea

The 'Stun Walk'

Thanks, Oohnorak, Fangel and Whimsically for reading this thread / suggestion.

The 'Stun walk' (Thats what I am going to call it for now) is by my understanding used on the NPC's that walk around haven, the makers of spiral knights are really good at using what they already have for other purposes, for example, when a knight is scared they clearly used the shock animation to show it, my understanding of the NPC's walk is that it is the 'stun walk' but in slow motion, their movement speed is not affected though, just the animation.

For the unnecessary part, yes it is unnecessary but it just inhances the look of your character moving around the haven and guild halls and so on, if it were a toggle button, I'm sure it would not be a big problem, it has no practical purpose what so ever, I admit that but, there are other emotes that exist already that are pointless but good fun.

Couldn't you just simulate "walking" by just rapidly tapping the directional button of where you want to go instead of holding it? Let go every 10ms
