Overview
Defense seem to make little difference in SK, especially in T3 and PvP. As a result, most players orient themselves offensively, with only some consideration for status. Since OOO released the hyper-offensive Black Kat line, it seems apt to release a more defensive line as well.
I propose the "Synergy" line. They will provide only normal defense, but will also scale all your defenses by a given factor. In addition, it will increase any existing status resistance.

Equipment Details
Vest of Synergy
-3 star
-Pure normal defense equal to that of BK cloak
-No status resist
-Defense Increase Low: All defenses are increased by 15%
-Status Resist Increase Low: All existing status resist gets increased by one stage

Suit of Synergy
-4 star
-Pure normal defense equal to that of BK mail
-No status resist
-Defense Increase Med: All defenses are increased by 30%
-Status Resist Increase Med: All existing status resist gets increased by two stages

Jacket of Synergy
-5 star
-Pure normal defense equal to that of BK raiment
-No status resist
-Defense Increase High: All defenses are increased by 45%
-Status Resist Increase Med: All existing status resist gets increased by three stages

NOTE: The bonuses will apply to the armor itself as well. So the effective normal defense it provides is actually higher. The reason the buffs are by 15% increments is because damage mechanics are not that responsive to small changes in defense. UVs are affected by the buffs. Status debuffs are not affected.

Appearance
I envisioned the texture as a cross between hacked aura and celestial themes. The armors are filled with energy that flicker periodically. This energy surges around the knight wearing it, providing extra endurance and resilience.
The vest will be like a bullet-proof vest. The legs will be like the swim trunks, except more kevlar-ish.
The suit will look like the vest, except with sleeves. The legs will look like gunslinger pants without the cowboy boots.
The jacket will be bulkier than the suit, kind of like a wolver coat with hard nobs instead of fur. The leggings will look more denim and stiff.

Support, comments, thoughts?

Wouldn't having a full set of any armor be better than this?

Considering that normal damage rarely appears in T3 this wouldn't be a great armor piece for endgamers.

Sure the defensive buff would be good but not incredibly.

Why not just release a set based on this item? There's the defense and status and you don't have to worry about fancy mechanics.

Still I am all for a new set, and it would pair nicely with the Dragon Scale helm or the Divine Veil.

Not necessarily. The defense values given by a single piece of armor is pretty decent, it's just not very large when compared to attack power. Also keep in mind that UVs are affected as well. I guess I can increase the defense buff to 15% per stage to make it a greater difference.

The status buffs are incredibly useful since rolling a low status resist effectively gives you Max status resist on the Jacket. In fact, you can get Max+high resist for any three status on your Jacket. Heck, if you roll max status resist on the helmet, you can theoretically walk through all status bombs in LD.

Regarding "fancy mechanics":
I think it will encourage people to experiment more with obscure sets (like dragon and divine as you mentioned), just like how universal damage increase encourages people to not focus on swords all the time.

So it's basically a gift to

So it's basically a gift to anyone who spends absurd amounts of CR on rolling for VH defense UVs? and a big "your hazes are useless" to anyone trying to bomb in LD?

I just think it's defensively absurd to make an armor that is immune to status and gives huge buffs to the other half of the armor set. I know that Chaos and the Black Kat sets are just absurdly OP but that doesn't mean it's any more right to keep making more and more powerful armor.
