How about making it double both the heat you get AND the fire crystals you drop? To be honest the item as it is is pretty useless considering that the main weapon leveling issue isn't the heat but rather the fire crystals and considering the price of that thing is really high (5000CE for a 30 days amplifier) I believe making it improve the rate at which fire crystals spawn would be cool.
