How long it should take to get a scarab mask

Now, i know this data isn't really that beneficial, but i was bored and decided to find out anyway.

I came up with this equation

C=A(T/R)+xP;

where: C=total brittle candy
A=average brittle candy per run
T=Time spent grinding (in minutes)
R=Total time taken to complete each run(including loading time)(in minutes)
x=Amount of PK (prestige) missions
P=Average amount of BRITTLE candy per PK run.
(Don't ask... I just like formulae)

I assume:

  • You want the scarab mask (duh), so 75 total brittle candy
  • An average of about 2 Brittle candy per run
  • A time of 7 minutes per run
  • 2 PK missions
  • an average of about 6.5 Brittle candy per PK mission

When we substitute the value in we get:

75=2 (T / 7) + 2(6.5)

Now after some algebra, we get a result of T=217 minutes, or 3.617 hours.

TL; DR It will take about 3 hours, 40min of straight, efficient grinding to get a scarab mask.

Thats a lot better than the Katastophe, huh?

-----------------------------------------------------

Note: My averages are just rough estimates based on my experience, I haven't been writing down the results of my grinding. Feel free to correct me.

By the way, my equation was organised like that because i originally had one without the PK stuff used to predict the amount of brittle candy per hour = about 17.

If you factor in the daily

If you factor in the daily mission you also get a bit more! I've been taking my time and doing the prestige to help take some of the ease off of grinding.

I'm quite sure I spent a lot less time grinding for mine. Probably more than an hour, but definitely no more than three.

All hail the cookies.

I'm not masochistic enough for the scarab mask.

2 hours, replaying the graveyard in LoA ('cause I was dumb and completed the daily mission). And that was fast, considering I'm the worst at speedrunning.

Thank you for the info!

Personally I like the mask and the new pet, so I'm gonna farm and try my best to get all the sprouts and the mask, so I can have a lil' Gourdling to protect me.

speedrunners.

7 minutes per run? You guys are fast! I think I'm more like 20 minutes. Still, I almost have enough for a scarab mask and 5 sprouts. I should have plenty of time: There are still several days left in the event.

I'm not having much luck in the "Trick" battles though. Maybe it's easier with a crew.

Edit: Got the scarab mask. Don't know whether I'll have time for the other masks, though. I should be able to get 5 sprouts easily.

This estimate isn't too far off. I think it took me around three hours, +/-half an hour.

I think it's an appropriate grind, certainly better than Apocrea's ten thousand token nightmare. Even more doable if you factor in completing all of the daily missions- I think that alone adds up to almost all of the requisite candy, actually.
