First of all, the Monster Encounter Tracker, it tracks the monsters you've encountered and killed (Because "Monster Defeat Counter" doesn't sound right...). There would be 7 types: Beast, Fiend, Undead, Construct, Gremlin, Slime and Unknown, all are acquired from (Most) Prizeboxes and Lockboxes. Let's say for the sake of this argument, the Heart of Ice (Maulos' Maul) is a weapon you can acquire as a rare drop from Maulos. For your bragging rights, perhaps you want to say "I only had to fight Maulos 20 times to get it!", or something like that. This lets you do that, with proof. So the list might run like:

Fiends
Devilite: 500
Devilite Overtimer: 200
Firebrander: 500
Firebrander Overtimer: 200
Devil-IT: 500
Devil-IT Overtimer: 300
Layoafer: 500
Layoafer Overtimer: 100
Blarful: 1000
Blarful Overtimer: 700
Yesman: 70
Pitboss: 100
Trojan: 100
Maulos: 20

And so on. This list could be accessed from the player view (Where you look at your equipment stats) and you can take a screenshot or something. I must also say that you have to equip these trackers, and once you do, they are permanently bound to that knight. However, you may only equip one of each tracker type. So if you get a Fiend tracker and you already have one, you can sell it to someone who doesn't. When a player inspects your tracker, if you don't have full inspect on, they only see "Fiend Kills: 100000000", whereas if full inspect was on, they would see a precise list (See above). Monster Trackers are usable until used, at which point they are added to your arsenal as a module. Here are the functions in a nutshell:

7 Types, acquired from Prizeboxes and Lockboxes.

Only one of each type can be equipped, permanently bound once equipped.

Tracks the amount of types you killed monsters, only shows monsters you killed.

(Optional) Shows weaknesses and resistances, attacks, and drop tables of monsters on the list. (This actually would be a good idea IMO)

Make sure to, after reading all of the OP, comment and suggest other aspects.

Strange Weapons

I saw this and immediately thought of strange weapons from Team Fortress 2. For those reading this and don't know what strange weapons are they're items that count your total kills and can have parts attached that track specific kills (Ex. Critical kills). And I think that you just want to go around boasting, "Hey look at me! I've farmed Maulos 20 times and I got this Triglav reskin that i'll kill enemies with and farm Maulos even more so I can sell these reskins and make all the crowns!" and then get murdered by Vanaduke because your to busy typing your next boast. I just think that "strange" weapons wouldn't fit in SK.

Strange weapons... Yeah those.

You're right, it does sound like Strange Weapons. But the idea of this was more to verify encounters with rare monsters that don't have any sort of special drop (Soul Jellies, anyone?) I really don't care too much about this idea (Most of my ideas are shot down anyhow), but I thought it would be something nice to add. And it wouldn't be attached to weapons either. It's a record for all weapons, on all enemies, in all conditions.

Well, nice idea, since people

Well, nice idea, since people don't remember where they got items, and because they can't show proof they got it from kills, but since it can head into bragging and such so...make certain rank requirement for the item(and maybe a fee).

Create a market

Include Tracker monitors in boxes (all kinds except Hallow/Frosty).

Tracker monitors allow you to track the number of kills against a certain monster family.
Only the owner can open the full list, everyone else that inspects the weapon sees Undead Kills : X

There would be 6 types of tracker monitors for each family. Respawning enemies and Punching bags do not count towards the total. "?" monsters do not count towards any total.

when i saw this i immediately thought of...

I immediately thought of the pokedex in pokemon. I totally would totally go for this if it was implemented. It would be great if it also included tidbits of info about the monster like the SK wiki. Also, would be great if we could inspect player's data that showed how much monster's they have defeated too.

Let's see here...

Megamanbg: This doesn't track where you got an item. The only relevance this suggestion has to items is bragging rights for "I only defeated soandso (number) times before I got suchandsuch". If you want a suggestion to do with rare items and tracking where you got them, go ahead and make it.

Holy-Nightmare: That's actually a great idea. I would add the "Unknown Family" though because of Creep Cakes (Though one could argue OOO could slide them in with Slimes, I think they shouldn't). Being able to receive Tracking Monitors in Lockboxes/(Most) Prizeboxes seems like a good idea. There could be another slot on the character view for Tracking Monitors. Equipping one would permanently bind it to you, and add "Family Kills:" into a slot. Mousing over it in the Arsenal (Maybe it could go under the modules once used.) would show you how much you've killed what since you got the Tracking Monitor. Also, you can't use a Monitor you already have. I'll edit the OP later.

Blandaxt: I think that the Monitor would show you weaknesses and resistances, (found) drops and attacks the monster has. Also, I like the idea of a monster not showing up until after you killed it, which is why I made it part of the original suggestion. It does remind me of the Pokedex.
