My primary weapon load out is currently an Acheron UV Medium Attack Speed and a Hail Driver, sometimes a Mega Magnus. I dont need a Glacius, what with the Hail Driver.

what Sword would you recommend for firestorm Citadel?

DA

Divine Avenger is a very popular choice in the FSC because:

It is elemental, so has a bonus against undead.
Wide arc so you can hit multiple zombie at once.
Good knockback to keep a zombie out of swipe range.
Perfect charge attack for corridors full of approaching zombies.

One drawback is that it is a slow sword, but so are zombies. The other problem is that UVs are quite difficult to obtain (IAS, CTR, Undead would be useful in FSC).

I'd also recommend a Glacius, but you don't need once since you already have a Hail Driver. Also, many parties have Shivermist nowadays.

Otherwise, might look at a Levi or CIV if you want to keep going with a 3-swing sword.

Im not a huge fan of the slow

Im not a huge fan of the slow 2 swing swords.

what about a piercing sword? Good against Fiends, and arent Slag Guards and Vanaduke himself considered Fiends? No wait, Slag guards are undead arent they? hmm... Maybe a Leviathan is the way to go...

Flourishes in the FSC

Sometimes I'll find myself in a graveyard with a flourish and a few bombs. Not actually a bad situation. The piercing damage is neutral to undead, so no problem there. Also, the quickness of the flourish interrupts zombies frequently and it has good knockdown/knockback. (And Phantoms don't know which way to run.) Being able to lunge across several graves to hit one is always fun.

The problem is that the hit area becomes very narrow for swing 2 and 3. If you lunge into a group of zombies, you might hit 1 or 2 and then suddenly be surrounded by the other 8. This is less problematic in graveyards where you can kite and pick off targets one at a time, but in FSC there are many places where you are fighting 10+ zombies in a very small room.

I'm going to bring my Final Flourish into FSC next time to see how it goes. I'm expecting that I'll have to switch back to a Levi or DA after getting bitten though.

Well... Leviathan it is then.

Well... Leviathan it is then. Since am at the point in the game where I can waste money, what UV do you prefer for Leviathan? Attack Speed Increase or Charge time Reduction? Any opinion appreciated.

Re: Flourish

With the Flourish, I find the best way to deal with groups (unless you're trying to push through to the other side) is to shield cancel after the first swing. That way you can maintain a decently fast attack speed without throwing yourself forward or losing the impressive arc on the initial attack. Not to mention that the shield bump will then knock back any enemies who rushed in after the swing or weren't knocked back far enough. I haven't tried this in FSC, though.

Get a CTR Levi. You'll only

Get a CTR Levi. You'll only need a Med UV since the sword has a built in CTR reduction and the bonuses stack. (2 Meds = Very High CTR) If you can find a High CTR, you're in luck, but Med serves me just fine.

Calibur line FTW.

As previously stated above, the CTR Leviathan is pretty sweet. For that Vanaduke fight tho', you'd get good mileage out of an attack speed boost as well, provided someone else has the Duke's attention. (And the mask part, too...) If you're running Vog Cub, you wouldn't need more than a medium ASI variant. It is pretty easy to get bonuses to attack speed if you're brave.

You will definitely use the charge attack when dealing with the zombies throughout the Citadel.
