New weapon class: Throwing Knifes

Throwing Knifes are sort of a cross between guns and swords, but unlike guns, throwing knifes have more hits, and unlike swords you don't swing them, instead you throw them, this weapon class can be good for those who wish to play as the 'Ninja' in SK.
Throwing Knifes keep the piercing, elemental, and shadow damage, and of course normal, and have a total of 5-6 hits, as for design variations, shadow can be ninja stars, piercing can be daggers, and elemental...well I'll leave that up to other people :P Normal throwing knifes can be any design.
Of course with a new weapon class, there comes new armor, for throwing knifes a ninja armor (Name may be suggested) with each defense type for a path can be used for increasing speed, or damage.
When using Throwing knifes it'd best to use ASI for the speed, rather than damage, the charge attacks of throwing knifes is...well, dull.

So...an antigua?

And that is already pretty tedious by itself.Besides, a ninja type class wouldn't be defined by weapon type alone.

this would be a new kind of guns, not a new weapon type.
also, define "have more hits", you mean they hit multiple times?

maybe I needed to be more specific.
how do they hit more times? pierce through? knockback? they just stop and hit more times?
did you meant they have more ammo clip? I wouldn't have an ammo clip to begin with, they are knives.

So it does more damage than antigua. Ok so what is the balancing feature?

Less speed? (not real ninja-y)
Less range?

Rather than having more "bullets" why not have just 2 but have each one capable of piercing through enemies (like DA or Antigua charge) and dealing decent damage.

Have the charge throw a large slow Shuriken that works like a powerful Winmillion charge dealing multiple hits and flinch.

Not really needed.

We have swords for close combat, guns for range, and bombs for area of effect. A hybrid of these ends up with something like the tortogun, where it doesn't really do anything useful in any of the areas.
Throwing knives could be a gun item with gun mechanics, very much like how the rocket hammer is a hammer with sword effects and gameplay.

This seems like a lot to develop when the team has already committed to revamping the existing weapon types (can't ignore bombers and swordies, after the gunners get a huge update), but the idea itself isn't bad.

A more plausible idea would be a new gun/sword series that acts as throwing knives or ninja stars. Specifically, we already have a model and weapon that functions in the manner that you'd like- the sawblades carried by the gremlin stalkers. If we gave that to the knight, I could see it being pretty sweet... for the attack patterns, you described antigua. We could use them as a reskin for antigua, but I think that'd be lame even if I would still use it.

Proposal: A new 2 hit sword called sawblades, comes in pure piercing, piercing/normal with shock and shadow/normal with poison.

First swipe = like the 2nd hit of sudaruska, but with less range, less speed and more damage + knockback
Second swipe = throw the saw blades; 5* has 3 saws, 4* and under has 1 saw.
Charge = Throws saw blades in rapid succession. 5* throws 7 saws, under that throws less by 2 per level.

Super slow, but pretty sweet base damage. Split normal damage, so that it can keep up with other swords in terms of ability. Status variants would not sacrifice damage, as the pure piercing variant would already deal significantly more than either.

Sawblades would be neat

Perhaps, on your sawblades idea, we could have the player become cloaked when fulled charged with the weapon, and give the weapon a semi-lengthy charge time (think: mist bombs. Not too long, but CTR doesn't make it instant). Maybe that would be considered "OP", but at the same time it would be a fun mechanic to make happen.

A short range sawblade weapon that moves the player like the gremlin stalkers would be a load of fun to play with.

Wouldn't mind that at all, in fact I thought about putting it on there but didn't. The point really being that "new" mechanics could quite easily be created using existing bits of weapon combos, and that adding an entire new category of weapons would be incredibly challenging.

Thanks for your opinions, everyone, I do agree now that the idea seems a bit farfetched to be a new class, it would be much better as a gun/sword.

As for earlier questions:
@ Thunder-The-Bright Pierce through would make sense, no ammo clip
@ Holy-Nightmare Less range, perhaps equal damage
