Suggestion to make shields worth heating

So far all we get from heating shields is a pinch of extra defense, practically no incentive to heat 5 star shields exist at all.

Why not provide a buff to all shields in the game?

At level 5 a shield provides +1 HP

At level 10 a shield provides +2 HP

+1 but also make it renew faster with every level.

Eh...

Although it would be nice, that's not something that we need on all shields. Maybe certain ones, but not all shields.

What would be nicer would be if it increased shield bash stun strength/knockback, reduced dash cooldown, increased recovery rate, or reduced the time it took before regenerating.

Health is an armor thing. One shield gets that unique ability (scarlet shield), but certain armors get unique weapon things too, like CTR and stuff.

The scarlet shield would keep it's HP superiority, just now it would give even more HP (maxing at +4)

More abilities on shields would be interesting especially if they got buffed at LvL 10. I could probably do something similar to my LD armor thread, I'll see what I can do....

It's not the worst idea.

I also wouldn't mind seeing shield regen becoming a statistic and accomplishing this, for a total of shield regen: Med at level ten, where a low is +4%.

agreed!

shields need to be more varied besides just providing defense for a few hits. Things like the torto shields like abilities or even make abilities that do not need visual effects. Just all in all, shields need to be expanded upon sense the torto shields have been introduced into the game.

How about change Shield Bash to be an action command for attacking and give it its own attack stats and/or status potency depending on the shield? Heck, have it allow players to charge it up for a stronger Shield Bash (so that it gets better CTR at Lv. 5 and Lv. 10): could be stronger damage or knockback, invincibility or immunity to a specific status while charging, greater distance for charging, something special to the shield (leave a trail of mines* or status-inducing puddle) or a combination of any of those. Successfully doing a charge attack with the shield would completely deplete its shield gauge, making the wait for it to refill much longer.

*Allusion to that Bomber Update, while I'm at it. Though, would that happen before or after the Shield Update?

@Melonfish: yeah those ideas sound really good and do not give them some ridiculous power liek shoot beams from your shield. the player is still putting their bodies at risk by using the shield bash technique.
