Let's just not ridicule it all with deliberate speech impediment
Spiral Knights are moreso space knights with a wide range of specializations rather than your average middle-age chivalry. And besides, the clothing design for seafaring pirates is quite close to that period of time (and Three Rings' other game about pirates) than, say, the cowboy-reminiscing Gunslinger armor sets.
That said, that really fuels my idea of eyepatches, cutlasses and pirate garbs with a Snipe perching on the shoulder being a thing.
As for the seafaring part, we should find a way to mash it up along with spacefaring for best effects.
