Hello, Me and a couple of friends have been thinking about Spiral Knights lately. We were wondering if you could increase the orb drop rate in a sense to always guarantee one type of alchemy based of the stratum you do. If this were the case, I believe the system created for obtaining orbs would not be as cruel. We also would like to know if you could change the characteristic of found orbs from bound to unbound. I am aware you can buy orbs at the auction, but it makes it easier for knights to make money and possibly buy orbs of another type with this method. As long as knights work hard and grind hard I feel that they should be rewarded. Yes they will be people to abuse this system but I believe you can balance this out.
As far as weapons goes me and a couple of knights were wondering if you can add a sickle/scythe as a featured weapon maybe make it only obtainable during the Dark Harvest Festival. As a Bomber, mainly Support Bomber, and Attacker Bomber myself I was think very much I'd like a bomber update as the most recent Gunner Update got me to come out of my shell of only bombing. A Sword/Fencer Update should be implemented soon as well. When I first started this game i used to think nothing of bombing then I turned my attention toward it and sold most armors for profit (4* armors). Now I'm learning to be more versatile.
A group of my friends and i have also been thinking that the Shade Armor series looks a lot like ninja armor. With this we were wondering if you could implement a new style of playing, Dual Wielding. Now I know that this sounds crazy but here is some ways you could balance it out:
Movement Speed Increases to a limited extent= Due to loss of shield
Dual Weapons do less damage but work similar Hunting Blade series= You may dual wield two weapons of equal weight of the same type, an example would be two Combusters or two Blitz Needles.
Lack of damage output can be compensated for a increased chance to inflict statuses of which ever weapon you possess.

increase orb droprate and make them unbound: no. this would completely kill the need to buy orbs from the depot, and decrese the cost of crafting, thus making the game grind for other things stand out even more. besides, orbs are bound because you should use them for yourself, in trying out new gear and such.
dual wielding: no. sweet merciful god no. you cannot balance dual wielding with the current monster and damage design. you would murder any enemy that stands before you. as Nick once said, the only way to propely balance dual wielding is making another class of weapos entierly.
