I used to be a big fan of PSO 1&2 and I've obviously noticed the references Spiral Knights has about it, and were explained very well by others a while back.
I've noticed SK's title theme sounds a lot like PSO's Lobby theme, could it be a subtle reference?

I never would've made that connection but I can somewhat hear what you're getting at. That's amazing and wonderful.
There's several PSO/Phantasy Star in general references buried in the game actually, I used to have a list on hand but right now all I can think of are the Battle Sprites being basically Mags with skills. And I guess Hahn is a character in PSIV?
There was another one that Nick himself mentioned but he apparently took it out because it was too obvious. :(
I see you like SK quite a lot.
