So, even though, I don't really buy them myself, I'll admit, the stuff in the promotional prize boxes is pretty cool.
But, unfortunately, this can fail to interest certain others. Frankly, someone could play spiral knights throughout the time period of "Operation (insert word here)" and never even know that it's going on, because they don't get on SK's web page or the forums, or they never check out the supply depot.

So, my thought is, make these boxes more exciting! Add some zip to it. Put something in game that will make it hard for players to not know about promotional prize boxes.

For example: Operation Charge. there's a forum announcement about it. you can check it out on the wiki and buy it on the supply depot... BORING

Here's what you do: treat it like it's own mini event! (one that doesn't have a mission of course). make haven look different.

For Operation Charge, I was thinking:
haven has metal poles sticking out of the ground, electricity crackling at the tops of them. some of the ground in haven is covered in metallic squares. there's a knight or two standing at the bottom right corner of the fountain in town square, dressed in costumes found in the prize boxes. go up and talk to them to get information on these new cool costumes!
