Add another tab next to the auction house called 'bookmarked auctions' so that you can acces auctions easily without having to search them or bid on them.
Bookmark auctions!
It might be useful to "stalk" auctions - sometimes I bid on an item just to watch it for fun (especially featured) and see how much it goes for. Is this what you mean by "not having to bid on them"?
I'd like to see who outbids me. It's annoying not knowing who just beat you to something or forced your price up.
Knowing "who" outbid you would create grudges between players. Certain players would have "hate" thrown at them for simply bidding and being merchants.
Pointing fingers will create flak towards that player. Anonymous winners (unless they announce it themselves) are in general better.
"Certain players would have "hate" thrown at them for simply bidding and being merchants."
- If someone sends you hate, block them. If they continue through others and such, report them. Simples.
How about this then;
Players can CHOOSE (in options via a tickbox) to be anonymous with Auctions. In order to stop it being a 'rubbing it in' option, it will be automatically ticked when you first start the game.
The original suggestion is fine as stated. Saving auctions to look at later is neat.
Having players to hate, sabotage runs on, or target in lockdown is bad. In the auctions it's best to know that SOMEONE got the item, but if it was a "who" thing you would be in trades with them, not auctions. Besides, if you see who you're in a bid-war with, it makes it less of a bid-war. Also, you might bid on things the other person has bid on just to spite them. It's a bad system.
Only thing I'd like to see possibly is who's selling the item. Checkbox when you put the item up for sale that is by default unchecked. This doesn't offset buyers, and can be used to get a good "name" out there as a seller.
Showing the one who put up the auction can make people who don't like you avoid bidding on your stuff
And people will know its me who puts accessories up for really low prices...
I don't see how this is necessary, if someone is interested in an item enough they'll just type it in or bid on it, there's no point to add an extra tab when the solution already takes 3 seconds
